I was very disappointed with one thing after the draft and that was not choosing a pass rushing specialist. If we did take a C.Barwin, M.Johnson etc.. this signing of JT would never have happened. Basically this amounts to two players that being P.White or S.Smith and J.Taylor.

I really do believe this was a back up plan all along going into the draft. They would have figured that we're better off with P.White and JT then just having say Barwin. If that was the thinking then you can really see how the draft fell to them having this option in their back pocket. Maybe I'm just full of it but it certainly makes sense now.

Anther reason why BP and Co are better at their jobs then most!

I would have to agree, I guess its hard for people to understand that we have a real front office now.

Weeks after the draft. I look at the Pats moving down and all around as a chess match specifically between the PATS and MIA.
This FO got what they wanted (even though I'm still burnt on Brace).
NE still got alot of picks for next years draft by moving around but BP got what he wanted. Thats the only thing I can attain from the non movement of our FO on draft day.

I don't think JT had anything to do with their draft strategy. Taylor has more than likely got just one more season left in him, you don't plan or execute your draft around a player like that.... especially one that you don't even have signed yet.

I have to disagree with you. JT was certainly a back up plan. The FO knew that he had an interest to join the organization and they also knew that they held the upper hand. JT's family is in Florida, he knows the organization (even though it has changed a lot), and ultimately Miami is JT's home. The FO could look at the draft and say, I like this OLB but that CB is better. And take the CB knowing that most likely would be able to secure JT for next season. Next year they will NEED to take a LB high, but they have bought that time.

I think that NE had the luxury of being able to move down and stockpile picks next year. We needed bodies now.

yes, but did NE end up getting what they wanted? With Wilfork entering the last year of his contract and the need at CB for them, I say they made some very good moves. They got great value in Brace imo, and well at CB I always thought that certain CB they got was abit small, but usable.

Having good depth is something I will never complain about. I'm glad we can afford to sit Wake and let him watch JT in action. I'm wondering what the FO will do with Roth now. Welcome back JT!
