Let me just say how impressed I have been for the most part
with the offensive line this year.We have had a few injuries but the back ups came in and have played as well if not better than the starters.

Here are a few stats regarding the offensive line that are not made public during a game. For your enjoyment...

.........offensive snaps...sacks allowed..qb hits..qb pressures
Jake Long..1006 snaps.....3 sacks........4 hits....6 pressures
Vernon Carey. 983 snaps...4 sacks.......5 hits....12 pressures

Jake Grove.....663 snaps...0 sacks......1 hit......6 pressures
Joe Berger.....342 snaps...0 sacks.......0 hits....1 pressure

Justin Smiley..781 snaps...2 sacks.......4 hits...5 pressures
Don Thomas...841 snaps...4 sacks.......8 hits....9 pressures
Nate Garner...413 snaps...0 sacks.......0 hits....2 pressures

Here you have a left tackle and center that deserve a pro bowl nod while our right tackle is also top 5 in right tackles in the NFL.

The great thing is there only going to get better with time

Our two backups have played OUTSTANDING..IN 755 OFFENSIVE PLAYS BETWEEN THEM THEY HAVE ALLOWED
0 SACKS---0 QB HITS--3 QB PRESSURES...INCREDIBLE

all stats are from profootballfocus.com
Any questions and you would want to speak with
Neil@profootball focus.com...a great guy

happy holiday's to everyone

Wow, I actually opened this thinking it was going to end with......

how Thigpen would make them even better!

The reason Nate Garner was substituting early on for Donald Thomas is because Garner is very good in pass protection.. And Pass Pro is a weakness for Donald.

Berger is also very good in pass protection but not as good as Grove is in the running game.

At any rate, the O-line is a lot better with these guys than they were with Alleman-Satele-Ndukwe - the 3 starters on the interior line for us late last season after the injuries to the starting guards.

This regime knows their O-linemen.

I'd like to see this current O-Line go up against last year's Baltimore team in the playoffs... that baltimore defense killed our interior line with the scrubs we had inside there, that's why we had so much trouble moving the ball. Penny was always running for his life and Ronnie had defenders in his face as he accepted handoffs.

This is great information!!! I am a big fan of Offensive Line play. If you can provide this info at the end of the season, I would like to see it.

The Oline in my opinion is the reason Henne has had a smooth transition, in several games he's had all day to throw the ball. It's also a great sign moving forward there's nothing more important than having quality depth when your trying to get to the superbowl.

great stats!!!!! sure have better depth along the o line now

for a waiver wire guy garner has impressed me ,very handy player to have
been a bit disappointed with thomas of late

but it is his 1st full year ,maybe just running out of steam as season draws to a close?

haha...remember how everyone was crapping all over Long at the beginning of the season? Turned out he had a pretty decent season.

I'd love to see that, too. The Ravens made our team look like a bunch of chumps. I can't wait for the next revenge game. Maybe in the playoffs, otherwise next year in their house.

Even with this productivity I can still see things being shaken up in the offseason.

I would not be a bit surprised if Carey is given an ultimatum to loose 30 pounds or else. Garner could transition to RT nicely but were I see a possible change is inside, I do think that moving Smiley back to his natural RG and filling the LG spot could be of interest to the development of the OL. I would not be surprised if a LG is selected in the draft between rounds 3 through 5. Or they look to pick up a young potential filled LG in free agency.

Should Carey get his weight sorted and they pick up another Guard this would give this team 8 young, talented OL to work through all their rotations and still be able to gell over time. (i.e. the Starting 5 + Garner and Berger)

It starts up front and this organisation will never be satisfied, just like this CFL kid, they are looking everywhere..

Anyone know if the CFL kid signed?
