Winning is a Habit
Hello Fin Fans. When was the last time we were watching our team playing for serious playoff contention this late in the season. It has been a wonderful year thus far and a success by all means, but making the playoffs would be even more icing on the cake.
I believe we are in a Playoff type atmosphere right now. If we lose either of our last two games we are putting ourselves in a very bad situation to try and make the playoffs. Here are the scenarios:
A loss to Kansas City:
If we beat the Jets the only way we get into the Playoffs, assuming New England wins out, is if Baltimore losses both of their remaining games to the Cowboys and the Jaguars. We would hold the tie breaker over a 10-6 Jets team in this scenario.
A loss to the Jets:
Assuming we beat Kansas City and lose to the Jets, we would need more things to go our way to get in as a Wild Card. Here's what would have to happen.
New England would have to lose to the Bills and Baltimore would have to lose to Dallas and Jacksonville.
A Loss to either team would require those above scenarios just to make it in as a Wild Card (assuming we win the other game we play). I really see the Ravens losing to the Cowboys and beating the Jaguars, so a Wild Card spot is unlikely. The Pats should win out if they play well, so I see our only shot at making the playoffs is a division championship.
I really believe we can't lose either game to guarantee a playoff spot. I think we can do it, but we shall see.
On a side note if we do win the division I would rather the Titans get the #2 seed so if we won our first round we would play in Tennessee rather than travel to Pittsburgh. Also Baltimore holds the tie-breaker over the Pats and if they win out they are in as a sixth seed at best. I think I would rather have a rematch of Miami at home versus the Ravens than the Patsies. What do you guys think?
