I noticed that all of our reveivers excluding Welker, catch the ball with their body all the time. Is this due to the fact our guys drop so many balls? McMike ALWAYS uses his body to catch the ball and it always bounces out. This happens to CC too!. I remember someone at the combine saying a great receiver catches away from the body. Using only their 2 hands. Like I said maybe this is due to so many drop balls. This is just my opinion though...you guys can get pretty lethal when someone has a wrong opinion....

New recievers or chamber must take a pay cut..

You guys blasted this thread at first but he has a good point. Jerry Sullivan was a very good WR coach. Baggett has done what? Some people mentioned him for HC - are you kidding me? He had Moss in Minny who didn't listen to anyone - he wasn't improved by Baggett. You watch Indy play and after 10 years I still see Harrison wide open alot of time. He always seems to generate space. Our WR's are NEVER wide open and rarely have much space. What the heck are they being taught? Are they that bad or is our coaching that bad? DO we not have plays or routes to get them space? I think it's the WR route running that generates space and either they stink at it or the caoches don't know how to coach how to.

I wanted Sullivan to stay but Baggett came in. We need a new WR's coach seeing as our WR's have been extremely horrible so suddenly. Chambers went from possible Pro Bowl mainstay to lost in translation.

I agree that our WR really need to start catching with their hands and not bodies. However another big part of that problem is that we really didn't have any QB consistancy this season. QB's and WR need to be able to feel each other out on the field. That really doesn't happen when Cleo Lemons taking over at halftime like it is some HS game. I think if our WR get back to the basics the'll find their way again.

Oh yeah sorry Regan I want to see Norte Dame do well, but Brady Quinn is not the answere to our QB problem. Unless he wants to ride the bench for 5 years and delvelop a lot more as a QB.

What we need is a new WR Coach. Baggett really hasn't got all of them catching the ball right, or disciplined on route running. Booker and Welker did well this year. Hagan improved through out. CC sucked - bad route runner, catches the ball with his body, play is inconsistent, takes plays off, doesn't fight to stop interceptions.

I think it's like screaming at a deaf person.

How many years have these guys been receivers now? It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. If they haven't learned to catch with their hands after having numerous coaches teach them, they're probably not going to. If Chambers still can't run great routes after 6 years in the NFL, I don't think that's going to change much, no matter who's teaching him.
