One of the most drastic changes in our team so far this year seems to be that we actually have great depth at quite a few positions. While last year we were forced to totally alter our gameplans due to a couple of key injuries (Smiley, Thomas), I think this year we have enough depth to keep playing our brand of football even if we suffer injuries. We will no doubt see a drop off, but it's nice to see that we have some depth finally.

Although clearly depth is an asset once the season starts, it can also be an asset towards the end of training camp when other teams start suffering injuries. Teams in contention (and even those not in contention - remember Lamar Gordon?) will sometimes throw premium draft picks at guys that are considered expendable by the "selling" team.

My question is, with our abundance of depth, who are the players we could potentially see traded? I think we have the most depth at DL, OL, CB, and WR. I'm not saying we have tons of premium talent at these positions, just a lot of depth. I don't see anyone on the DL or OL getting traded, and our CB depth is monstly unproven.

The one guy I think could be traded is Greg Camarillo. I'm not saying I think he gets traded, but he's the type of guy that could be traded, especially if Turner and/or Hartline look like the real deal. Why? Well, most importantly, he has some value. If a team loses a starting WR, he has proven that he's a capable starter. Secondly, we already have similar players on our roster. Bess is the best slot receiver on the team, and Hartline could be a faster version of Camarillo. If either Turner or Hartline really steps up, don't be surprised if Camarillo becomes expendable.

Any others?

Camarillo IMO is the best receiver on the roster. He has experience, gets great seperation, runs great routes, makes alot of crucial first down catches, Pennington hooks up with him well, he is a solid special teams player. He is a well rounded receiver and was leading the receivers last year before the injury.

Cam gets open because there's a safety always helping on Ginn.

Name a more well rounded proven receiver currently on the team as of right now. Turner, Hartline, unproven and unexperienced at this point, London unproven and very little experience, Bess solid probably closest to Cam(but can't separate as well). Ginn potential, runs out of bounds alot, gets pushed around, his route running could be crisper.

I really like this thread, props. lol

But yeah, I do think we could send out a reciever like Cam if hartline/turner become solid/good recievers. Im not saying we are going to assume anything but if through the first few weeks all our WR's are playing solid someone might get traded.

We might see Reggie Torbor on the way out.

Always...............???????I watched every game from last year and saw every game about six times, and i can tell you that only happens around 30% of the time.

And the Dolphin coaches them self's said last year it only happens "sometimes".

A real #1 WR gets safety help around 70% of the time.

I think there could be a trade of either a receiver, a linebacker, or a cornerback. The bubble players at these positions would make it on a lot of teams. It will depend on injuries, obviously, but we could end up with one or two more low round picks if Parcells plays it right.

My Bad.... Maybe Cam needs the double team. I saw safety help at least 6 times in the first Buffalo game ...but it didn't help much.

The roster only looks deep to some people now because we haven't had any depth in a very long time. The dolphins are only deep in a few positions. And most teams have such depth in a few positions

And you're not going to get a decent return trading Camarillo as he only had half a season of production and is coming off knee surgery.

From what I've seen, Bess gets better separation than Cam.
yup, he does.

He get's in and out of his cuts much faster " like Welker".Plus he changes his speed all the as well, to keep the CB off him and not sure of what he's about to do.

Both are good WR's and are worth more to us then what we could get for them in a trade.

1) We are not a very deep team at all.
2) No one wants our scrubs that sit the bench.

WR-Most unproven. Most of our "depth" has never set foot on an NFL football field in a meaningful game.
CB-Unproven/scrubs
DL-I actually think this is a position in which we have no expendable pieces.
OL-Absolutely no depth at all. Especially with our injury prone starters.

Unless by trades you mean getting 5-7 round picks in return.

I think we should cancel all of our games in 2009 until we get a real team.
