Hey Guys and Gals,

Do you not think our running game should be a lot better than it is?

It just seems we should be tearing it up a lot more than we have. We have 3 solid backs and I feel we have a lot of potential to dominate in this area.

I know it starts with blocking, but thus far, I was expecting a lot more from our running game this season.

Right now, until this past Sunday teams knew they had to stop the run because it seemed to be the tendency to run on first down. With RB & RW if you don't stop the run you have no chance. To this point the only games we threw the ball on early downs were NE and SD, both wins! I think if you defy the tendencies the running game will rebound. Teams will see Ginn running free early and pull the extra safety out of the box making it easier to run the ball.

Teams are loading the line up with 8 men to stop our running game, but after a couple of more game like Sunday teams will have to back off to defend the pass, and the R&R express will be all aboard!!!!!!!!!!!

If people are loading up the box to stop the run, you pass.

I totally agree dude! Pennington just needs to make them pay! Wish he could have hit Ginn in stride on the 1st play! Would have been beautiful!

Yesterday's game plan was exactly perfect. Buffalo came in there thinking they were going to stop the run and on the very first play we went deep on them. It was the perfect play call and set the tone for the rest of the game.

Also Buffalo and Baltimore are one of the better run defense teams in the league. Houston loaded the box the week we played them. Relax boys and girls I think after yesterday teams will begin to respect are passing game.

Is that what it is???

I keep wondering why our running game stinks so bad. I mean Ronnie and Ricky seem to only be able to pick up 2 or 3 yards anything out of the wildcat formation.

I know, I'm going to say the same thing that Joey Porter told the reporters..."ya'll just pen pushers, if ya'll really knew and understood football ya'll would know what's really going on..."

You need to throw the ball deep in order to force the safety to help out the CBs and to spread the offense so that the RBs have the space due to the OL being able to block one on one. When the DL is stacked with extra players there are going to be LBs and S's that are going to be unblocked that will be crashing in either behind the line of scrimmage or cutting runs short to like 0-3 yards.

Passing more like we did in SD, NE, and against BUF...we will begin to open up the running space for our RBs.

I expect next week against DEN, MIA will throw early and deep and then go Wildcat and run the ball for more yards against them. Remember, we were down against BUF and had to throw the ball to get back in the game.

Every time a team is down, they must pass the ball. Running the ball is mostly to run the clock out. You aren't trying to run the clock when you are down a TD or more.

If we get on a lead early against DEN, look for our running game to get more yards. If we have to come back because of being down early...then you wont see a lot of running yards and more passing yards to come back. Pretty simple really.

one thing for sure.......

ricky williams took that pay raise from bill parcells and is
now laying on it, fast asleep!!!!

ricky is in PHENOMINAL SHAPE! he was a beast in camp.

after he gets that rediculous, poorly timed raise, and the
season starts, he is now as lethargic as they come on the
field!

he is missing cutbacks that are wide open, stuff 5 years ago he
would have never "missed"!

yeah, he had that screen pass and the td [from 3 yds out] but
when i watch him he is phoning it in. just going through the
motions.

the only "production" the run game has right now is out of that
wildcat thing.

loooong ways to go.

i put that on penningtons arm, and the fact that we are a run first pass second offense. Teams are just stacking the line and people arent respecting pennington. Which worked out for us yesterday because pennington proved what he can do. IMO we need to go to pass early in the game and run in the 2nd half, its where we are going to have the most success. I think the broncos are still gonna come out playing against the run on sunday.

If we can get our passing game to be like it was this week, consistenly then it will open up the field and our running game would be alot better. Then everything begins to work i.e. play action passes.

Yep, until Miami shows they can pass the ball down field team will continue to focus on the run. Hopefully Ginn and Camrillo will continue to develop and take the focus off of R & R and give them some room to work

We just need better execution from our running game and blockers. Its not a matter of teams keep players in the box.
