Who is going to start at safety? FS and SS? These are the positions that frighten me the most to think about (yes, even more than QB). Here are our current safeties according to Miamidolphins.com

Abram Elam
Tebucky Jones
Travares Tillman
Atari Bigby
Chris Akins
Yeremiah Bell
Quintin Williams
Deandre Eiland
Jack Hunt

Who is going to stand out? I think Bell will end up starting because he was good last year before he got hurt, but what do you think?

Saban's guys Tebucky and Tillman IMO will most likely start.

it wil probibly be tilman and jones. we need fast safteys which can tackle. our safteys have to be good in zones because we get alot of interceptions by having our corners on press coverage and our safteys deep. if we also get a good qb rush then i think that we will get more interceptions all round. look what happend against tom brady last year. sammy knight 2int. Freeman 1 int. Brendon a.......... wot ever his names is aswell. 3 ints by safteys. looking good

I don't know that he'll start, but i'm telling you, watch Bigbi, this kid will surprise! If he's been studying his playbook and watching film, his skills are unquestionable!

Right on brother, go Golden Knights!

tillman and tebucky... I'd like to see Bell start though.

I dont know if iam as worried about the Safeties much we look like we should have a really good pass rush and the corners are all decent so as long as the Safeties play there role they should do ok

Q. Williams was a pretty good safety at Wake. There's a good chance he could surprise a lot of people.

I suspect Saban to blitz more also, so we will get more pressure most likely, I just hope we don't get killed by the big play.

Akins might not even play again. His injury was that serious last year, and so far I haven't heard anything about him this year. That said, even when healthy he was only 5'11" or so and was not capable of starting.

I think our safeties are a question mark this year, but really this is a rebuilding effort so we can worry about that position next year. I don't want to throw this year away, because we could do some great things, but in reality it would be nice if Bell or Tillman emerged.

I think we know what we get with T'bucky. He is inconsistent, but can be a hard hitter and a liability in pass coverage. I imagine Saban will use T'bucky to his strengths and that will minimize opportunities for mistakes. I do think T'bucky will make some nice plays though.

Just think though, if Bell or Tillman can emerge, then at least we have one part of hte puzzle solved for the future. And next year we would only need a starting strong safety or a strong future prospect for the following year, assuming T'bucky is just a gapstop.

Of course I realize this is all speculation and truly worthless, but it is a decent way to spend some free time.

If Saban does blitz more the Safeties are going to have more oportunites to make plays then old Strategy of Defense we used to have
