I know the draft is coming and free agency is not over yet but I wanted to take a look and see where the big holes are at if we were to start the season now.

QB-Tannehill
RB-Ajayi
TE-Thomas-Fasano
WR-Landry
WR-Parker
WR-Stills
LT-Tunsil
LG-???
C-Pouncey(whenever he's healthy
RG-Larsen?
RT-James

LE-Wake
DT-Suh
DT-Phillips
RE-Hayes/Branch
LB-Alonson
LB-Timmons
LB-???
C-Maxwell
C-Howard
SS-Jones
FS-Allen?

No doubt we need at least one starting guard if not two on offense

On defense we need one more starting LB and a FS as I can't see us rolling with Allen as the starter

as far as depth we need another DT and who's going to be our nickel corner?
And at 22 a DE might make the best sense as far as value. Actually I can only see us going DE, LB or FS at 22 but that's just my opinion

Ozzy rules!!

Just based on the current roster, Urbik would be your other guard, Hewitt or Misi would be your other linebacker, and McCain would still be your nickel. All spots that need upgrading.

Well if the season was starting tomorrow then LG would be Urbik/Steen and LB would be Misi/Hewitt. You're right. FA isn't over. We still have the draft and then vet cuts. The roster will be fine.

As for the guards we didn't vastly overpay? I'm glad because for so many years a position of need was ID'ed and we'd overpay for the quick fix only to suck for 15 years. There's a new sheriff in town with a completely new philosophy. I'm willing to give the guy a chance at building the roster his way.

I think the plan is for Larsen to play RG.

That leaves us with nothing at LG, though.

I sure as hell don't want Larsen to be starting for us. He's a backup and that's it. Need more talent at guard. Also, Allen is a backup at safety. Don't want him starting.

LG-??? (I think we need Urbik as our first reserve interior lineman. He can do a competent job across the line, but I'd rather have a stronger starter)
C-Pouncey(whenever he's healthy ... which is our only remaining wildcard on the OL)
RG-??? (I do not consider Larsen a starter, but if he is, I'll be very nervous)
RT-James

LE-Hayes/Wake (I think we make Wake a pass rusher this year, and Hayes will help keep him fresh)
DT-Suh
DT-Phillips (He doesn't play enough snaps to be considered a starter. Doubt that changes, so this becomes ???)
RE-Branch (At his age, he better be taking all 3 downs, if not, we have a problem)
LB-Alonso
LB-Timmons
NB/LB- McCain/??? (We take most snaps in the nickel I believe. I was hoping to upgrade from McCain, because this is a phenomenal CB draft, but not having starting guards may eliminate this possibility)
C-Maxwell
C-Howard
SS-Jones
FS-Allen? (Not sure whether this guy is a starter or not, I just don't know him well enough. But, this is a great S draft, so if we had guards we could have taken a starting S ... now ... who knows)

I'm hoping our draftees make a bigger impression on the starting lineup than most are expecting. This is a great draft. We'll have to watch late cuts as well, so maybe we can find a few pieces here and there.

We have a lot more holes left. I wish like hell we were a lot more aggressive going after the better guards in free agency. We just ignore that.

Still worried about the defense.

I don't think Wake starts next year.

DEF: FS/ LB/ DT/ DE

OFF: G/ Backup T

Draft: Lamp, Feeny, Dorain Johnson---
McMillan, Cunnighmam,
Eddie Jackson, Jordan Willis, Charles Harris ....
FA: Poe,

LG -??.....pretty sure the plan has always been to take Forrest Lamp at pick 22...and thats why they didnt go hard for guard in FA....develop him with Tunsill and lock down the left side of the O-line for the next 4 years!

LB - ??.....Koa Misi for starters and rotate our draft picks in for development....should be 2 or 3 LBs taken anywhere form rounds 2 to 6.
