so what are you guys doing about the game this weekend....

I am flying in from Boston, and have to make my decision tonight to get a refund on my hotel. I talked to someone at the stadium and they said a decision about the game will not be made until tomorrow at the earliest.

Just thought I would see what others who were flying in were thinking about doing?

I would get your refund man...People take this really serious down here and regardless if it isn't really going to effect the Miami area, they will cancel things in a heartbeat if it has pretty much any remote chance of effecting the area. I would say get your refund while you can and try and come to another game. You don't want to get stuck.

I wouldn't come here!! Landfall is expected for Sunday AM on the current track, which means it 'could' be right over Dolphins Stadium by gametime, or slightly north of it. If that is the case, there won't be a game. And if the storm is bad, but you are already here, you may have a very tough time getting back home.

We are suppose to fly in from california fri. pm........dont want to cancell, isnt ther a chance they play the game on sat since it s not suppose to hit till sun.............i was in san diego a couple years ago when the big san diego fires hit, we were bound and determined to see miami football so we drove threw the fires to arizonia were the game was moved to, took us ten hours for a normal 4 hr drive....very scary.

I don't know if you are crazy, or just bad luck!! :goof:

Problem is, even though landfall of the "eye" is for Sunday AM, there is another 150 miles of storm around the eye, and we're going to start feeling the effects long before Saturday.

chance is more likely for monday then saturday, If you guys get stuck either the hotel will have you stay there or you will evacute somewhere. If need you decide to come... let us know. I could probably handle taking in a couple of people extra if need be!!! Flying out of here post hurricane is a wreck and your weekend vaction could turn into a week long one

Yes we take this VERY seriously. Katrina caused $28,0000 of damage to my home in a category one (still under repair) (flooding and leaks not structural so house is still safe) And this thing is the strongest hurricane ever on record.

I bet the NFL wants those busts back pretty soon too if it looks like it will hit.

Seriously though, Sorry about the damage!! I feel for you.
My sister lost her house last year during Charlie.

The TV is on a UPS backup battery that cost almost as much as the tv. it powers all of my AV equip and tv for up to 12 hours with no power... I have priorites straight as an arrow baby. I also have one on my fridge and pcs but thats it.

cancel or come inland. the wind will come from the south to south west by the looks of things

If you don't cancle and the storm hits miami (and i hope it doesn't) then i am pretty sure if the hotel closes down it will refund your money. I don't think the city council wants people fllying in for any reason to just get stuck in a storm. But who knows?
