Hey guys,

A quick question. We are all NFL fans and as such are used to seeing fully grown men act like idiots after doing what they are paid to do i.e. score or make a tackle. However, as a NHL fan also, I do not like seeing that kind of thing in hockey. It does not seem to fit, in my opinion. He is a great player but is quickly becoming a clown and that is a pity. Soccer and football have it for years. Rugby and hockey are pretty free from it and I want it to stay that way.

What do you guys think? Cap's fans try to be objective, lol.

The league has become a joke, i can't believe of all the things people are complaining about with the NHL it's a goal celebration for Alex Ovechkin. The guy is great for the game, a prolific scorer who excites the crowd. Why don't we worry about the other things wrong with the NHL like the fact that nobody is allowed to hit anybody anymore, or fighting is disappearing from the game, or the officials are a flight out disgrace.
 
I'll be honest (before the rest of my post): the Caps are in my top 3 teams. Blackhawks first, then Panthers/Caps.

That said, I don't have an issue with it. If this was a regular occurrence or even more often it would annoy the hell out of me. He reached a small milestone with that goal and I feel like the 5 second celebration was fine. There was no taunting involved and like I stated, it was brief and not common for him.
 
I dont see it as an issue...he is now on the list with greats and thats something to celebrate for. I like to see the emotions on players when they achieve something like that.
 
It's only better because it makes Crosby cry

C'mon Space, the officiating is not a disgrace. Do they get everything right? Hell no ... But, if the Flyers weren't composed almost entirely of goons, maybe they wouldn't spend so much time in the sin-bin. Seriously, the "Broad St. Bullies" ... How can you call yourselves that and then turn around complaining about officiating?

As to the op: I don't have a problem with AO celebrating his goals. I know that I go ape-**** for every Pens goal. :)

When Sidney Crosby draws 5 Flyer penalties by flopping to the ice like always you'll see how bad the officiating is. The Flyers played a game the other night where Mike Richards got called for an elbow and his arm never left his body, the referee seriously was on drugs because his arm never touched the guy.
