Come the end of the 2016-17 regular season, will we be over, at or below the .500 mark?

...If we remain mostly injury-free this season, I say 3 over and I ain't jivin' neither.

Your forecast?

Can we just start fast? I am sick of 1-3 or going into the bye with a ton load of questions and injuries. In this league you dont stay injury free, you get lucky with depth and deception. In the past when Albert gets injured , seems that was it for the line. Maybe we are better equipped to handle this adversity now?

On paper with a healthy team we are a good team and should be above .500, but we have a bunch of players we'really counting on bigtime that are coming off of injuries or bad seasons and we hope they come back to their previous top form. I chose to believe however that everything is going to work in our favor and we will have a great season lol.

I think we are a below .500 team this year. I think the talent is there, but with the schedule and Gase's first year I'm not very optimistic.

This schedule looks brutal and Gase is a rookie coach. I expect exciting football, but I also expect a 7-9 season.

I'm predicting one below .500 - or 7-9.

But a few lucky breaks can probably sway a few games our way.

Difficult to say. I leaned toward 6-10 a few months ago. There are a lot of question marks that won't be answered until preseason is over. That isn't a bad thing but it muddles the possible outcomes of the year. The schedule is difficult for the division too so that plays a factor.

Among the questions Miami has: Is Gase going to make a difference for Tannehill? Will the OL be better? Can Parker stay on the field? Can Alonso/Maxwell stay healthy and if so will they be effective? Will Mario Williams have a good year? Will Cam Wake stay healthy? There are others I'm sure.

Every team has questions going into the year but how they're overcome is what makes a difference. If it all shakes out to where the majority of my questions are yes, I don't see why Miami can't contend for a playoff spot. If the answer is no for most if not all of the questions, 5-11 or 6-10 could be likely.

I believe if healthy, we are a 9 to 10 game winning team on just talent alone and schedule, but if Gase and his coaching staff is as good or better then we hope, then 10 games or more is not out of the possibility.

MIA @ SEA (Doubtful)
MIA @ NE (No Brady...I like our chances)
CLE @ MIA (Please)
MIA @ CIN ( Could be loss, but...)
TEN @ MIA (Healthy, we should beat them)
PIT @ MIA (At home, I think Miami has a chance, but still too tough)
BUF @ MIA (They should beat the Bills in Miami, or Gase is no better then Philbin)

Bye

NYJ @ MIA (See Bills in Miami game)
MIA @ SD (Miami has beaten the Charger in SD before, but kind of tough)
MIA @ LA (I can't understand why the Rams are getting so much respect)
SF @ MIA (Miami should beat the 49ers)
MIA @ BAL (Miami should beat the Ravens, but easier said then done)
ARI @ MIA (very doubtful)
MIA @ NYJ (Miami has beaten the Jets in Giants stadium before, but still too tough)
MIA @ BUF (Miami has had a hard time beating the Bills in their home for a while now)
NE @ MIA (Miami has beaten the Pats in Miami, but if Miami wins @ Pats, it will be extremely tough to sweep in Miami)

If by "start fast," you mean play Seattle and NE close, I'll agree. No more coming out flat. No more playing not to lose. Yes, I'd like Miami to win both, but I'll be happy if I see something resembling a REAL NFL team.

Recently, I read a magazine that predicted the phins would go 5-11. I wonder what the rationale was Miami being worse than last yr?

I think 8 or 9 wins is feasible. Why? The coaching staff was upgraded as were the OL & Secondary.

Shoot man we stared 3-0 a few years back, it just doesn't feel like it because we blew it as usual (got spanked by the saints on MNF if I recall and it was downhill from there).

But yeah, a season not full of discontent, heartbreaking last minute losses to good teams, ass-handings by mediocre teams, and cries for everyone being fired, would be nice.

I like the OP's 11-5 prediction. Seems both doable and reasonable. This team should be better.
