Over racting on joey porter comments?

By watching the actual press conference hes just making a few points. he said it would be nice to get our first victory and 1-2 would be better than 0-3 into the bye week. he said it wasn't the same offense without brady. he didn't guarantee a win. he said it would be nice. i didn't hear the win guarantee that ESPN completely butchered all over their shows.

no way was this a win guarantee or a low blow to the patriots team or organization.
 
I think Joey Porter needs to keep his mouth shut and actually show up sometime. I was actually pretty excited when the Dolphins signed him, but we all know he hasn't done a thing since he got here. I think every other player in the league laughs when he opens his mouth because they know he's washed up.

Having said that, I'll be the first one to praise him...IF and when he ever shows up for a game.
 
They were actually talking about this on NFl network last night and I fully agree the media has blown this thing out of porportion.

Joey Porter never talked smack. All he said was the Patriots were not the same team without Brady, which in fact is true.

Someone in the media is getting a kick of watching our team contiue to spiral downward by providing some nice bulletin board material for the Patsies.

All you have to do is go back and read what Porter said. He never said Matt Cassell sucked or anything bad towards the pats, he simply said they were not the same team and Cassell is no tom brady, which is true!
 
Cassel ain't Brady.....everyone knows this...it's stating the obvious....no point in inspiring them even more....

Porter ain't Derrick Thomas either.....everyone knows this....but you don't hear Miami's opponents pointing that out....

ay bra stop actin like a lil bi**h and that goes for everyone else who thinks porter runs his mouth .. the man is tryin to hype this team and he is only speakin the truth.. someone else said in another post he is one player proud to be a dolphin and is confident enough to feel they can win every game.. no he hasnt made the biggest difference since he signed his 20 mil contract but he has played better than many of the other players thats been playin wit miami so shhhhh.. also i dont understand y people complain and wine bout his contract he didnt offer himself that money he jus signed it, it was our fo that signed him for that much.. porter is and will continue to be one of our better defensive players regardless even if he is not as dominant as he was in pitts
 
and yes all the media does is hype up what porter says cus that is their job... come on dolfans we should be smarter than this ... the media is good for nothin all they do is try to find little thiings to turn into big week stories and make a big deal bout it
 
whether he runs his mouth or not is has no effect on the game or his play, so i don't really care.
 
He just looks like an idiot. Guaranteeing wins and talking trash is only cool if you're actually good. Porter isn't the player he used to be and he is on one of the worst teams in the league. He just comes off looking stupid.
 
Porter is the one in the jersey, not me. He is the one getting paid Millions of dollars to play football and hype up this team, which I think he does well. Who cares if he runs his mouth. If it is a smack talk then so be it, let him get all hyped up, if it isn't then so be it let him go into football analyzing in the future.

Yes the media is overreacting, there is nothing wrong with porters comments whether it be smack or not.
 
Who cares what Joey porter has to say. Does anyone really think this fires up the patriots? The fact that a player on the big and bad 1-15 Dolphins is running their mouth. I seriously doubt it. I would were on the Pats I would laugh it off and still have this game checked off on my schedule as a gimme.
 
Porter's trying to lead by example. He's showed up all season long so far. He's been one of the bright spots on our defense aside from the rookies and the defensive line.

But to think this will motivate the Patriots is a joke. 18-1 is what will motivate the Patriots. We're one of the few teams that always plays New England tough. If we don't give up the big play it's going to be a tough game because New England's running game is going to be non existent.

A motivated Miami's secondary + Miami's pass rush = Very Very good chance of winning.
 
You'll know if it motivated the Pats if Cassel says anything about it in the post game presser.

If you think Miami fans are upset with porter now just imagine if he is mentioned in the post game press presser if the Pats win.

he never guaranteed a win. he said "it would feel really good to get our first win this week" "1-2 is better going into the bye than 0-3"

he never said we were going to win. he said it would feel nice to win this game.
 
Until Porter actually does something in a game, he needs to shut his big yap. He hasn't done jack since he's been with us. He's an overpaid big mouth and that's all he's shwon that he is.
 
It's sad to see a once dominant player in this leauge struggleing to stay relevant. There would be no way to have your comments taken out of context if you just act like you have just an oz. or two of class.
