If you look at this team and compare it on paper to last years team...we are either the same or better at all positions.I think both Dave W and Rick Spielman should be commended for the job that they have done. Almost everyone was ripping them from Day 1 of free agency and all they have done is make this team better and kept it all under the cap. For all those Wayne Gandy zealots on here...we would have so overpaid for his services...and you would have scratched one of these guys off the roster..Konrad,Seau Knight, Griese, Thompson..Buckley...or maybe even 2 off the list...Gandy was not worth the money he was asking...but Dave and Rick still got killed...know everyone seems at least content with everything now...but we all need to be a little more patient
QB-Griese is a huge upgrade over Lucas...did I mention HUGE...we have improved
RB-We still have Ricky and almost everything the same but add Henry and Rogers..we are same or even a little better
OFFLINE-We mostly have brought back the same guys...we didn't get the LT we were looking for..but we added depth and got youth...We had a 1800yard back...think this rates even...stayed the same
WR-We lost Orande and Ward and gained Thompson,Baker with more confidence.Newsome who showed some ability and Tover who looks like he can play on this level...Thompson looks like a faster younger Gadsen...think we improved..we are better
TE-We lost Weaver and Clark(who hardly played)...we gained a raw rookie in Lee and a vet in Battaglia...tough call..Mcmichael is still there but a question mark for the overall position...will say we lost a little here
DE-we lost Haley and gained Zgonia...think this is an improvement for experience and leadership..plus lemanzer will be given a shot to make the club...we gained a little in a spot we already were pretty deep at
LB-We lost Rodgers,Galyon...we gained some guy named Seau..hmmm......and we drafted a young fast playmaker to push Greenwood....think we improved...know we improved
Secondary-We gained Knight,Buckley...lost nothing of any significance...we are a much better secondary..we are better at safety,nickel and dime...an improvement
SPECIAL TEAMS-Tough call for both Royals who had times he struggled and Mare...who should have taken a paycut...Mare was very,VERY inconsitent..but he had a foot problem...don't think our kicking game improved..but our return teams did with Rogers,Newsome Baker and Minor...giving us some explosiveness...Think our returns will be better...but our kicking the same...rate an even
