please leave your input...by the end of this thread i want to have set starters for the next 3-4 years in some positions and what needs we must adress.

OFFENSE:
Qb: culpepper, harrington
rb: brown
fb:______
Wr: Chambers,_______, welker
te: mcmichael
lt:_____
lg:Jeno James
C:
Rg:
Rt: Carey

analysis: We can't give up on Culpepper yet. As of right now, he is our future at qb and we're relying on him to get better. Carey and James show promise for the foundations of a solid oline. We need to pickup a LT and C somewhere down the line either in free agency or the draft. We need another playmaking WR...booker will be gone very soon and i'm not sure if hagan fills that role.

DEFENSE:
Oe: Jason Taylor
DT: holliday
NT:______
LE:_____
WLB: Crowder
MLB: THOMAS
SLB: ______
CB:____
CB:___
S:Yeremiah Bell
S: Jason Allen/Renaldo Hill

Analysis: Our defense is ollllld boy. I still think taylor and thomas will squeeze 3-5 years. The rest of our dline is huge question marks. holliday might make it but kevin carter, zgonina, keith traylors carreers are all coming to an end. WE have some young dts and des on our roster that show hope but none have been given the chance to step in yet. I think in the next couple years with some retirements they will be given the chance. I know some of you think goodman, daniels, and allen are solid cbs and they are just that "decent". Thinking down the road i can only see one or two of them being replaced. That is why i'm leaving both cb spots open as well. And seeing that we used a first on jason allen and renaldo hills stepped up play i think they will solidify that position.

olindo mare will be gone as well.......

So feel free to comment on my analysis. Some might argue culpepper isnt the answer or that chambers isnt a legit #1 anymore. Some might argue wright will step in at dt but that is yet to be seen. All i know is matt jones torched our cbs this week.... and we need to FIRE MULARKEY and get mcmichael and chambers involved damnit.

thanks.

I agree for the most part, but I dont think we can destroy this line all at once again. We have done that for the past 3 years and its been bad at the beginning of the season. I think we need to get pieces over time to fill in on the O-Line. Then again if we have the chance to upgrade the talent on our line I think we need to pull the trigger, but dont get rid of the guys we have for guys with equal talent.

I think we need 2 Rookie LB's in the next 2 seasons. Zach wont be around forever and Crowder may go to the MLB spot when Zach retires. Seattle got Lofa Tatupu and Leroy Hill in one draft and they are both great future studs at MLB and OLB. I would like us to get youth at that position.

We won't beable to replace that many players and be succesfull next year. We keep Holiday, traylor, and Carter for depth purposes but replace them with our younger guys or rotate young/old more often. We keep the corners we have and we begin working J. Allen in at CB because Bell and Hill are somewhat solid. We keep W. Allen, Daniels and Goodman because replacing those guys will disrupt our continuation.

This team does not need a complete overhall, more continuation and a better infusion of younger/hungrier talent can do us alot of good.

on the O-line, we MUST keep the guys we have in there this year but sign/draft better talent and infuse them gradually... work them in. The o-line is not a bunch of individuals, it's a single unit, disrupting that would be a huge step back... possible early season chemesty issues exist.

I like what you had to say...I agree...We can't disrupt the jelling and flow of our O-line. Hill has become solid and Bell is a great player. We should move Allen to the other corner spot opposite Daniels. I also liked what I saw out of goodman this year. I wonder if he could be better than daniels

I think CC needs moved to 2nd or 3rd receiver. His performances or stats do not support him being the #1 receiver.

This will be perfect!! We can have a big year!!

All the restructures and releases we should be up there and afford A thomas and Asante!!1 Its looking good!! Ricky coming back woooowwwwThe D will get better and younger with The Poz and Channing Rodrique Asante Roth ETC

On the line i think we need a LT in the DRAFT, James needs to go i dont know why everyone is saying he is solid, he is our worse lineman this year, id like to see Fonti there, Center is Hadnot, RG i have been pleasntly surprised with Shelton there, he might be too big for tackle but nice and strong for guard, RT Carey

Offense:

QB- Culpepper, Joey H., Lemon/Vick/FA Rookie
RB- Ronnie B., Ricky, Sammy Morris,
FB- Barnes
TE- McMichael, Peele
WR- Chambers, Booker, Welker, Hagan, Vick
LT- Either a FA or McIntosh, Rookie(Until ready to take over for D-Mac)

C- Hadnot, McKinney
RG- Sheton(he's done well there), Berger
RT- Carey, Alabi

Defense:

DE- Taylor, Rookie
DT- Holliday, Rod Wright, Vickerson
DT- 1st rd Draft pick(I'd love Alan Branch), Big Daddy, Vickerson
DE- Carter(I think he'll stay), Roth (or visa versa)
OLB- Channing Crowder, Pope
MLB- Thomas, Rookie 2nd round pick
OLB- FA (Lance Briggs from Chicago), Spragan/Hodge/Rookie
CB1- FA (Nate Clements would be nice or Asante Samuel), Andre Goodman
CB2- Will Allen, Travis Daniels, Will Poole
FS- Reynaldo Hill, Jason Allen
SS- Yeremiah Bell, (Young FA or Rookie of Saban's choice)

K- FA or a nice rookie
P- Donnie Jones

Essentially there isn't much change. I think it will benefit us not to have too much change this upcoming year. Culpepper should be 100%. We'll have the 2-headed monster back in Ronnie and Ricky. WR's we are deep at. Only change on O-line I think might be LT. Should it be a rookie it might take him a little while to start especially at LT. D-Mac has done well and moving Shelton to RG was genius by Houck. Hadnot has done extremely well at Center.

As far as the defense, we need to add FA's. Lance Briggs and Nate Clements would instantly upgrade our Defense while providing youth. We need a NT to fill in for Traylor and Alan Branch would fit the bill along with Big Daddy. We have young guys like Vickerson and Wright who are going to be ready to play. Wright could have been a 1st or 2nd round pick had he been healthy. Roth and Carter have been solid at the other DE spot.

I kinda like this. However I like Nate Clements over Samuel. Clements is built better and would be great under Saban.

A. Thomas would be nice. I think either him or Lance Briggs would be a great addition to our LB core.

I think we should draft a DT like Branch over "Poz" only because I think we can find a nice LB later in the draft a la Channing Crowder. Plus Traylor may not be back and he will be injured more next year.

I don't think we should put Shelton at T. He should stay at Guard. We should keep D-Mac until a nice 2nd Round rookie is "Houcked" enough to play there.

Booker has done well this year and I think we should keep him accross from CC. We will have Welker, Hagan, and Vick to play WR.

Daniel Graham would be great instead of Peele, however I dunno if he'll want to come here considering some teams will make him the #1 TE and pay him #1 TE money.

I think those are the players that Saban will covet!! he wants a LB!! We have no LB!! ZT is aging!!

We can get Redding as FA!! hes young and great!! We have Rodrique Wright who can be a star!!

Going to Graham!! i think he can be the number 1 guy and we could trade randy!! i never liked randy!!

Look for Saban to get Graham

Redding doesn't fit that NT position though. He is under 300lbs. We need a big NT. Someone Similar to Traylor. Alan Branch is that DT.

As far as LB we can still draft one in the 2nd or 3rd round and get a great LB. Just like Channing Crowder. Plus there will be guys like Lance Briggs and Adalius Thomas as you said available. Thomas will be okay one more year. We can pick up a 2nd or 3rd round LB to mold for the future. Plus Channing Can play MLB and we can pick up an OLB to mold.
