I have a feeling that Manning will miss a good portion of the season. The Colts team is a completely different team without him. I really feel we are a 9-11 win team this year, along with the Jets and Pats. With Pittsburgh and Baltimore being in the same division and both being 10 or better win teams there could be a log jam for the wild card spots.

With Manning out a good portion of the season and the rest of the AFC South and West being pretty weak, I could see multiple teams with better records than the Division winners in the South and West sitting at home while possible multiple 7-8 win teams are in the playoffs. Similar to Seattle last year, but in two divisions in the AFC this year if Manning is out for a while.

this Manning injury is serious. If he was smart (which he is) he would give this injury the proper time it deserves to heal. $%# football! I want to be able to walk when I'm 40

Honestly, I think this might eventually force him into retirement. Nerve injuries are nothing to scoff at. I hear he cant even turn his head right now... How do you expect him to play football?

I drafted him in my fantasy league too, with the assumption he'd be out 2-3 games max. And now this. Goes to show that even doing drafts post pre-season can still screw you.

He'll be able to walk, just won't be able to turn his head.

Without Manning I think they win 3-5 games this year...could even be picking first and getting Andrew Luck to back Manning up (when he finally comes back) for a couple of years.

Wow that would be Tim Duncan for the Spurs type stuff.

That would suck!

Well the teams that's held a spot for 10 years or so is essentially out of the mix now !! Houston moves into that spot, with nobody to replace them.
Steelers/Ravens ensured a wildcard, right ? Texans,Chargers should mop up their divisions. So I do see the 2nd team in the East taking a wild card pretty easily.

The x-factors here are the chiefs and dolphins. I think the chiefs will have a back to reality type year, like we did in 09'. They do play the Broncos and Raiders for 1/4 their schedule however. We need to beat the patriots week 1 and then we can think about overtaking one of those 2 spots in this division. Remember tho, NE and NYJ are older teams ( Jets do have a nice young core on offense ).... Miami is a pretty stout young team waiting on a few things to click, see TB-2010.
