This post is not a rant, I'm ignorant to what is going on with Turner...

I read and hear different things. (Radio, Blogs and forums.)

The other day coach said he's progressing well. I heard one of the host on the radio say he's dropping balls...

What is Turner struggling with? Is it, drops, route running....?:err:

Mel Kiper Jr Is The Man!!!!!

MEL KIPER SAID ON DRAFT DAY THAT HE HAD TURNER IN THE LATE ROUNDS OR A UNDRAFTED FREE AGENT. HE ALSO SAID WE REACHED ON PAT WHITE, I LOVE WHAT THE TRIFECTA HAS DONE EXCEPT FOR ADDRESSING THE WIDE OUT SPOT, I REALLY THINK THEY ARE BEING STUBBORN BECAUSE OF THE PRISSY ERA OF WR BUT WE NEED A LEGIT NO 1 NOW. I HONESTLY THOUGHT PAT TURNER AND ACTUALLY PAT WHITE WOULD BE ADDITONAL SPEED ADDED TO THE POSITION, NOT:crazy:HE IS 6'5 AND I THOUGHT HE PLAYED WELL IN PRESEASON BUT THEY SAID THE SEPERATION FROM COVERAGE IS JUST NOT THERE, SEE MEL KIPERS REACH BOARD, HOPES HE PROVES DIFFERENT:confused:

mel kiper is more wrong than he is right. if he was so great he would be getting paid by a team and not ESPN

Seems like the next Ernest Wilford to me...

Really now? Ernest Wilford? Turner has been in the NFL for less than 6 months since being drafted, while Wilford has been productive with one team but signs and can't get on the field. Wilford has been in this league for 4+ yrs. Pretty ignorant prediction there no offense. Coming out of college everyone needs to learn how to play in the NFL and some learn faster than others.

Mel Kiper rated our last 2 drafts a C. He rates almost everyone's draft a C so he can try and keep what little credibility he has with some fans. Do yourself a favor. Don't listen to Mel Kiper.

To answer the question, the only word that is coming out is that he is improving. If he can't find a way to break in to this sorry group of receivers, that tells the story at this point. It's only his rookie year though. He may need an additional off season and TC to get up to speed. Not uncommon for some receivers.

I can't see how dropping balls is a problem with this team, seems he fits right in.

Mario Manningham was a bust at this time last year also... now he isn't a bust. yes NYG seems to have good receivers, im just trying to make a point. saying Turner is a bust is like Rex Ryan saying his team played better but lost the game. it just doesnt make sense.. give the little ***** time, over drafted: YES Bust: to be determined

This regime has a way of doing things I suspect is a little different or a little more strict/dogmatic compared to some other teams. You earn yourself onto the playing field by practicing well (they need to see what they are looking for) and consistently. You can't flash playmaking ability here and there and make it. I suspect that's what keeps a lot of our "head-scratchers" off the field on gameday. It's not that Wilford or Turner or others wouldn't make plays in a game and would be miserable wastes of roster space - it's just that they don't quite show the coaching staff what it's looking for during practice.

I imagine there are several "playmakers" across the league who wouldn't make it on our roster because of their practicing style. Some guys turn it on when the lights are on, so to speak. The Dolphins aren't the right fit for guys like that.

I think it's pretty obvious he's simply not playing as good as our other receivers right now.. until he starts getting playing time that's all we can think, why else would a 6'5 receiver not be seeing the field even in redzone situations.. he probably can't get open consistently yet.

He could be just too slow to play receiver in the NFL.... he could be another wasted 3'rd round pick like derek hagan... like someone else said if he can't even crack our horrible group of receivers at all 7 games in something is definitely wrong.

Just to confirm Mel Kiper's idiocy:

New York Jets: GRADE: A-
The motto of the Jets' draft was quality over quantity. Mark Sanchez's selection made this team's draft because he's a franchise-maker. New coach Rex Ryan likes his defense, so the organization felt it could focus on the offense in his first draft. The Jets picked up Iowa running back Shonn Greene, who will fit into the rotation with Leon Washington and Thomas Jones. Guard Matthew Slauson was an OK pick in the sixth round, but the key to this draft is up top with Greene and Sanchez.

And he grades our 2008 draft a C?

So Green and Sanchez is a better haul than Long, Merling, Henne, Langford and Thomas?

I give him a grade A+ for being a 24 carat plank.

Please. Stop this ignorant line of thought.

Mel Kiper is simply a show man who knows how to grade players. He is ESPN's MAIN DRAFT GUY. You don't think he makes more money than the top scout on an NFL team?

REALLY?

He makes over 2 million a year from ESPN alone.. and that's not taking into account what he earns from his insider tips which he earns a percentage of. Most head COACHES don't make 2 million a year. Most GMs don't make 2 Million a year.

So you tell me.
