Maybe Miami was never really in this? Maybe, just maybe not everyone prefers Miami over other great cities, like NY.. Personally, for me, unbiasedly, if the money were the same, I would sign with NY because they may be closer to the SB than Miami, they have less question marks as of right now then the Phins do.
1. A healthy QB
2. One of the top 3 RB's in the game
3. A proven WR/TE tandem..
4. A more solid defense
Chambers was great last year and McMichael was better than avg., but neither of these guys have come close to performing at the levels that Plaxico and Shockey have. I think NY would definitely be higher on the list based off of a what's in place. Miami has potential, but that's all it is right now is potential.. I think the only place we have the edge on them as we sit RIGHT NOW is with the coaching staff. We have a damaged goods QB right now that none of us know what were getting yet, we have an unproven RB that we have yet to see the best of (hopefully), but we don't really know for sure, and we have a very inconsistent WR/TE corps. While we are all optimistic about this team going into this year, there are still plenty of issues.... No one knows how this team will gel, if there will be chemistry issues, etc. It will take DC (if he's ready) probably a good 3 or 4 games to adjust to the offense and our players before he gets comfortable, if he ever gets comfortable after that type of injury. I think there is a damn good chance alot of you are setting yourselves up to be extremely dissapointed. While I love the optimism and strides we've made to improve, there is still many mountains to climb and I stay realistic. I think we're a 10 win team next year (at best).
Rich22 said:Is RW with you? have you been in a tent for the last 10 months? Are you kidding me - the Giants are closer to the SB? Healthy QB? It's Eli freaking Manning for God's sakes! You would rank him over Culpepper? He's healthier - I'll give you that but what has he done? Tiki is tough but another year of pounding on his body. WR??? Did you really say Paxico is more consistent? :sidelol: WOW!! No Miami has performed at his level? Maybe for 1 game! He was run out of Pitt as a headcase. I think I have read almost everything and then BAMMMMM! The guy is the definition of headcase - he's consistent - Speechless!! TE - Yep Shockey is pretty consistent - when he plays! You would rather have the Giants O weapons than DC, Chambers, Booker and McMike? WOW!! BTW RB is not unproven - the guy played almost the whole year and if you watched a game you would have seen a stud RB that can do everything including block and catch out of the backfield - he is truly a 3 down back. At 235 lbs RB can break it outside or pound it up the middle - can Tiki do that? Not to take anything away from him cause I think he is great but don't diss RB.
You must be a closet Giants fan to write this - incredible.
