I think Parcells played his hand just right with the Pace situation and so forth. I mean he told the Jets a year ago they should go after Faneca and lo and behold thats exactly what they did. I think he pushed the price up on Pace on purpose to get the Jets to BITE, his plan is working to perfection, now since they have so much money tied up, we will swoop in and have our pick of the litter, and plenty and plenty to spend for the draft and any GEMS that may become available later on, remember there are always a few GREAT PLAYERS released between the draft and start of Training camps. This is so much FUN.
We are witnessing the beginnings of something VERY SPECIAL.
P.S. We still got something up our sleeves, just cant put a finger on it as to what, but there is something else YET TO HAPPEN.

uh no. Stop thinkin to hard into thingsp

VIP is looking like a better and better deal every day...

I'm glad the Jets over-payed for this former slacker, Pace.

As for Faneca, he's a good player... signing good players on a team that doesn't have many... I don't see that as a problem.

You cannot downplay this possibility. Parcells has been around long enough to know all the tricks of the trade. It could be that he knew full well that the Jets would offer everything and then some to land Pace and therefore played his cards to drive the market much higher than it needed to go. A guy like Faneca was already going to command top dollar without any push. No way a guy like Pace gets paid 22 million on potential alone without Parcells' involvement.

I hate to tell you but the days of "great" players getting cut between the draft and camp are mostly over. Most teams manage their cap better now, plus the cap has been increasing like crazy.

Also, while I do think the Jets paid a little too much for Pace, some posters on this board are giving Parcells credit for everything from the wheel to the declaration of independence.

This is the same type of thinking we always fall into when new management comes in. I remember every little thing Saban did or did not do, it was all chalked up to some master plan of his by us here at Finheaven. As it turns out, we gave him too much credit. Could it be this team was genuinely interested in Pace and didn't go through all the ruse and negotiations just to hurt our division rival in some offhand way. I mean, if anything, Pace played Miami to make his Jets contract even larger.

If a player does'nt show enthusiasm in being here and is'nt 100 percent committed to becoming a miami dolphin then we just let em walk, and i think thats what we did..

remember, the players that come here MUST HAVE THE RIGHT MENTALITY AND WANT TO BE HERE FOR THE RIGHT REASONS. THE IDENTITY OF THIS FOOTBALL TEAM IS BEING CONSTRUCTED.

obviously he took the jets offer because he felt the pressure of being a large free agent signing on a 1 and 15 team, good decision bill and jeff

I agree there is still more to come.
