How will the mandate of new Dolphins Emperor Bill Parcells of being a "bigger & stronger" team affect Ted Ginn's long term viability on the team, or could he be shipped out after this year for a say a 2nd & 5th rounder in next years draft ?

It depends what he does this year. It doesn't seem like the new regime sees him as a #1 WR IMO.

BP is not ignorant... therefore I doubt it very much... Ginn will prove himself this year... He is a good... potentially great player but probably went to early last year.... that error is not on BPs record...

if he doesn't prove to be a #1 WR, then the year after next he will be gone.

He's not going anywhere. If nothing else, he's a fast slot receiver who can spread people out.

BP is a smart football guy.

Even if Ginn does not perform like number one WR this year he will still be a fin in 09.

Things Ginn will have going against him this year that will allow to be down in production and stills stick next year.

No Tested O-Line (sure on paper that have improved but you will never know how the pass blocking is until they get on the field together)

No True QB (to this point who is the Fins starting QB: Henne, Beck, McCown) What I think is McCown will start off, and move to Henne or Beck later, that will hurt a WR (IE Evans)

No other threat in the passing game besides Wilford. WIlford has shown me so far in the league that he does not need to be doubled and hence Ginn can still get doubled. Also none of your other WRs at this time Scare Defenses.

Still a Raw Route Runner

WR normally get three years to prove their worth, as long as they are showing improvement (Which Ginn IS)

I know this will catch H&LL but unkown running game at this point. Goes back to the Oline with at least 2 new starters. AS well as not sure what you are going to get YET from Ronnie coming off his Knee. AS well as you have NO IDEA what you are going to get from Ricky any-more.

Finally New coaching staff will make mistakes, calling games, so could hurt Ginns Production

yeah and take a cap hit! so much for depth han! Also having big F'ing reciver doesn't mean squat! ask JacksonViLLe hows that basketball team for recievers they have going for them. That's why Ernest Wilford was brought in. Having a Big recievers on opposite size doesn't work much, unless you get lucky like the cardinals and Have two potential Hall of famers that are huge.

I don't agree with that because they are not new to coaching, but anyways you make a lot more sense then my fellow dolfans. I can guaranteed you if we were to trade Ted Ginn to the pats he would have a field day against our corners 1-1. Also he is a valuable returner.

I agree with the Return Man versitlity even IF he flops as a WR that alone can let him hang at least through the Rookie Deal.

I understand they are not new to coaching but they are new together. Also no Idea how the offense will turn with them. Learning a new Offensive System again. Lot of room for mistakes is all I am saying. But I do see your point.

Remember though Cam and CO was not their first stint at coaching either and they still made mistakes.

i think in parcells eyes he is a 3

nothing to do with his size. more to do with what he was brought here to be - which is a #1 WR. and i guess i was a bit dramatic with saying he'd be gone the year after next if he didn't prove his worth, but i am not far off. i love the strides he made last year and i saw a marked improvement over the season, but i was never 'wowed.' dude needs to put on some serious bulk to be an effective blocker and route runner - or else DB's will eat him for lunch.

but i actually like ginn and think he will pan out. but if he doesn't, for whatever reason, the year after next isn't ridiculous to be looking for a replacement.

:shakeno:
The reason our team is so bad, is because we give away all our talent. BP is not an idiot. We will keep Ted Ginn Jr for a long time.

What the hell makes everyone think that the regime doesnt see him as a #1 WR? At this point, no one really knows. Never once has BP/JI/TS said they dont think he is a #1 WR. Sure JI said he was looking for a #1 WO before the draft but considering he didnt draft any WR I'm betting that was more smoke then anything.

Ginn will break out this year or next. He is a good player. He is not going anywhere for the next 3-4 years at least.
