I've heard that they haven't decided what to do with Zach. Any news? Retirement?

my guess is #1... how is his head, and the huge settling that whole situation of him playing, possible consequences, his future his life with the concussions and all.... #2... if he'll take a big pay-cut, i doubt parcells will be wanting to pay Zach all that cash with some questionmarks on his palying time, ability, and health and all.

but thats just my guess

I haven't heard. IMO they should try to rewrite his contract with a pay cut, but give him incentives based on playing time. I think you absolutely have to keep him (unless he opts to retire) because you can't ask for a better mentor. It is however time to find somebody capable of filling his shoes once he's gone.

I think Zach Would take a Pay cut i would love for him to stay a dolphins for ever and if he Decides to Retire he should be our LB coach

My first impression was that Zach is done, especially after seeing him take his parking sign...

But after reading about that incident with Mueller, I'm not so sure. Why would he get so upset, because he really doesn't want to retire, or maybe because he does and didn't appreciate Mueller talking about it?

I love Zach as much as anybody, but the fact is that if he came back for one more year he is going to be involved in several collisions per game (some helmet to helmet) that could have a very serious impact on his future health. I would hate to see that even more than I'd hate to see him retire.

This is not a case like Green who may or may not receive a kill shot like he did last year. With Zach it's almost guaranteed because of the position he plays, and the passion he brings to it.

Haven't heard anything yet, but we should prepare for the worst, which is retirement. Well, the worst move for us, but probably the best for him.

I seam to be in agreement with the majority for once. The best thing for him to do would be to retire/sign as assistant to the Linebacker coach. Hes going to be taking some nasty hits at that position and all it would take is 1 to turn him into a vegetable. Hes been too good for the organization for anyone to want that to happen and I think at this point its best not even to take the chance.

I never once heard the words retirement come out of Zachs mouth. I wouldn't bet on it in Vegas. Dude wanted to play and they put him out for the year. I think Zach is still a 1st/2nd down guy. Take him out on pass downs and he will take a pay cut and he is still a leader and is a coach type of player too. cmon people, think a little outside your box.

There's no doubt he still has something left in the tank and would help the team (assuming the D doesn't change drastically), but for his health's sake, I hope he retires. I'd like for him to remember ever playing 10 years from now. He's been a great LBer for us and deserves to have as much of his health as he can from here on out.

So, Zach, if you are reading...retire and run off in the the sunset. Don't take any more chances with your health. You'll always have a place in the heart of every Fin fan...

They'll have to drag him from the field imo.

Zach Deserves Better

Zach has his contract redone every year to help this team sign other players.
Cuttting his pay after all he is done for this team is a slap in the face. I would retire or sign on with another team.

if and when the doctors clear him, I would expect him back. csabe nailed it on the head.
You will have to drag the guy off of the field, and I think he was cleared to play later in the season,
but the doctors and Zach agreed there was little point. I'll try and find that link.
