Having a dolphins fan for a friend who believes Bill can do no wrong, I question whether people have been drinking too much of the koolaid with this guy. We are talking about a coach who couldn't win anything without Bellichik and in my humble opinion gets way too much credit.

So far in his stay in Mia he has whiffed by not taking Ryan for a safe LT. Not the worst mistake but when you at the time have absolutely no QB, kinda suspect to me.

He has taken back to back same positions in last two drafts. While it looks okay when you consider Merlin is panning out and Smith could be a steal...did it warrant you taking another at those positions when you had glaring needs at ILB and DT?

How about White in this years draft? He may actually turn out to be your best option but that says more about how bad CP is.

He has yet to get Henne any meaningful game experience and has stuck with CP way too long. Before you know it you guys will be looking at what others around the league view...a bad bad season.

CP in the game allows the defense to play as if Miami O is on their own 5 yard line...ALL GAME!! They don't respect his deep arm so the safeties crowd up and take away the running game. All this dinking and dunking is pathetic. You better hope you can get a chance to figure out if Henne is the guy so you can draft a REAL franchise QB next draft. Cause let's face it, you are not winning more than 6 games if that and surely will be drafting in top ten.

So can you Bill Parcells homers really argue that he is anything special when from here, it appears he is way overrated.

Thanks in advance.

dude. what possess's a steelers fan to come on here and go at this so hard?

Because after numerous conversation I want to know what other Dolphins fans as opposed to just his view. I want to see you do well but think Bill is slightly fraudulent. That's all, no ill will.

He turned a 1-15 team into a division winner. He may not be God, but he is a proven franchise fixer. He may not turn a team into a Champion(usually doesn't stay long enough), but he knows what it takes to change the culture and get things rolling.

He has his faults, but everywhere he goes, he takes bad teams and makes them into winners. That is not opinion, that is a fact.

Doubling up on positions actually has worked so far. They doubled up at defensive end in 08' and now Langford is a starting end and as you saw today Merling is pretty good also. Smith is already a starter at corner and Davis is getting plenty of playing time. Yes I would like to have another inside linebacker or defensive tackle on this team, but he will probably double up on them in next year's draft.

Also, the Long over Ryan pick is far from a mistake. Jake Long after only one season of play is already a Pro Bowl LT. Ryan is very good and likely going to be around for a long time, but he was not as good as Long was last season. Still though, you can not judge players on just one game.

Pennington certainly has his limitations, but there is a reason why he finished second in league MVP voting last season. He will have his bad days like any quarterback, but more times then not, he will pick apart defenses.

Not winning more then six games? Thanks Nostradamus.

The argument about Belicheat really irks me. He is a good coach but he did not make Parcels. The fact is that belicheat has never built a winning team. The only success he has had is within systems that parcels put in place. If you want evidence of that just look at how well he did with the Browns. If Belicheat made Parcels then why didn't he more success there. Belicheat is very good at coaching under Parcels and Parcels staff picks but without that he has shown himself to be not that great. He is getting a free ride in New England and that ride is coming to an end.

So Belicheck did not build a winning team in New England, really lol.

Not without Parcells help he didnt. He took over a system that Parcells built full of personel that Parcells hired. Im not saying he did not do well once he entered into that situation but he certainly did not do the same thing when he was with the browns.

Parcells was .500 coach with the Pats. Belichek took over three years after Parcells took his ball and traveled. Parcells gets no credit for what Belichek has accomplished in NE.

I think Parcells needs to wake up the Dolphins OLINE and get them HUNGRY for success this year. Maybe Sparano hasn't been flogging them quite enough in the preseason. Parcells is "old school". He'll yell at 'em up and have them playing at their highest levels. Parcells definitely gets respect. He's earned it.

Really and what was the patriots record before Parcells got there? But thats fine dont give the guy any credit and while you at it go ahead and go on record telling us that Parcells can not win without Belicheat as the OP suggested. We will throw out last season and the fact that heads up in the same divison Parcells team won the division over the mighty Belicheats team. No point in injecting facts that dont help your postion.

Parcells has turned 5 franchises around. That is amazing and take that
stat and compare it to anyone you want as a coach and see how it works
out.He deserves a place in the Hall of Fame for that unique achievement alone.Belichek is a great coach but you can't ignore his failure in Cleveland, but the fact he won 3 SB rings will get him in as well.Like them
or not,you can't ignore their achievements.
