Just throwing this out there...I can't help but wonder what Parcells is thinking as Ross keeps doling out shares of the franchise to pop music artists and tennis players.

Edit: I see the separate thread on Serena and Venus. Sorry if some people consider this a 're-post'.

hes thinking what we should be thinking... who cares... most of these teams have minority owners... whats the difference if we have some and they happen to already be famous? why does that make 1 ounce of difference?

I certainly could care less but this has been quite the whirlwind of new celebrity owners lately. Parcells doesn't strike me as the type of guy that this would appeal to...but what do I know?? After all, he's just an employee too.

I am sure when Ross talked to Parcells about staying on, for atleast one more year, the concept of Ross bringing in minority ownership came up. Besides, these minority owners cannot tell Parcells what to do or how to run the Dolphins football team, so I'm sure he's not affected by anything of this. I also think that when Parcells sat in his suite on game day and saw all those empty seats, he would be okay with most marketing ideas that would fill those seats.

He's an employee that can walk away with over $12 million at almost anytime if he doesn't like what it going on. IMO, if Parcells doesn't like what is going on, there would be some "source" saying as much.

As long as they dont have any impact on his work I'd say he could'nt care less.

why is it a whirlwind? again Ross bought up like 95% of the team, getting minority owners is nothing new for NFL owners to get some cash... im sure Parcells has seen this happen with every team hes on, again the only difference is our minority owners have some celebrity status...

still dont see how that makes an ounce of difference to him, or anyone

Do these minority owners have any say as to how the club is ran??
Probably not. I cannot be sure but I think each of these minority owners still own fewer shares of the team Wayne Huizenga does (5%) so I would think he has more than clout they do.

Wasn't Parcells given part ownership in team as part of his packsage? I was thinking that he was 5% owner himself.

He's thrilled he gets to sit with Richard Williams at the next US Open, fire up a doobie with Jimmy Buffett down in Key West, get comped for his favorite dish, the mojo marinated fried pork chunks at Gloria's Ocean Drive Bongo's Cafe, and get first dibs on a JLO booty call (literally) if their rumored breakup comes true. Since his wife's been pestering him to learn to dance the Macarena, he's been lobbying Ross to cut Ricky Martin in on the action.

So in summary: from Bill's perspective, it's all good and could only get better!

I don't think so. If he was given part ownership, Huizenga could not sell 50% of the team in 2008 and another 45% ownership this past year to Ross. Huizenga still owns 5% of the team.

the majority owner has the say... these minority owners really are just investors...

Thanks for the laughs Vaark :lol2:, it sure makes a better day at work. I just imagined Parcells doing all those things you described, too funny.
