Parcells was going to walk.

Doesn't surprise me in the least. WH and SR did what needed to be done to secure Parcells. I hope this stops the banging on WH for a while. He wants the Dolphins to do well and he did what he had to do.

What a job. Walk away with pay if the new boss turns out to be a d**k. But I like it cause I think Ross is gonna give Parcells his freedom and let him run the team like he wants. He's not dumb. Parcells wont leave us if he has his freedom and doesn't have yet have that Superbowl trophy......I think

BP was not acquired to just help fix the team. He is here to raise the value of the team. He did just that and got what was agreed upon. It's not like the deal was in the contract as a joke.

Wayne, BP & Ross knew that BP was here to raise the value of the team. BP just did what anyone SHOULD do with a contract like that. Cash in or get more options out...

There will be a lot of guys working for BP once he leaves the Dolphins. He will form a company that helps manage professional teams. I would buy stock in that in a heartbeat.

Not to mention that the average team increases 10% a year in value over the last 7+ years. So with the right economy and team play...a team could increase 11 - 16 QUICKLY. That is pretty big % points being earned on anything over 10%. Talk about an easy business plan to write...lol.

Wayne has been a great owner to this team. Just like any sport...there are some players & FANS that just need to be quite more often.

It takes a lot for a businessman to give up that kind of leverage to BP. You have to be willing to assume the risk of BP leaving right after the sale. Part of the BP funds was surely insured by Wayne. I think Wayne did a great thing for the team just by siging BP. EVEN if it was for only 1 year.

This is nothing more than big business bringing in big talent. You have to give to get...

While I am relieved at the fact that Bill decided to stay I don't think we should overlook the people that he put in place. Ireland and Sparano are IMO the right people at the right time, so any fear of BP hitting the road should be tempered with that reality.

Let's celebrate the fact that BP is still here but also the fact that our new owner stepped up and did what was necesssary to keep an important part of the machine in place and operating smoothly.

When you say he was going to 'walk' (although he's no Andy Reid) wouldn't it really be more of a waddle?

(Do I now have to go and flay my genitals with a cat-o'-nine-tails as penance for making a less than kind comment about the great Parcells?)

Who is Armando's source? the water boy? I don't trust a word this guy prints. He should write for the Inquirer. He's complete BS.

I'm with you on that one. I think this story may be legit, but in general he is terrible. I wish I had a job where I could just make stuff up, say I got it from a "close, unnamed source", and then get paid for it.

I hope Ross becomes BP's own personnal *****...

All Armando does is start fires everywhere, pointless. I have yet to see him break a normal and credible story that doesn't involve people walking, or people being released. Garbage.
