Bill Parcells' mantra to ex-Wolverine: Shut your mouth

By Armando Salguero • McClatchy Newspapers • June 11, 2008
MIAMI — Jay Feely connected on 21 of 23 field goals last season, which put him in the company of the NFL’s most dependable kickers and in the conversation for Most Valuable Player on a Dolphins team that admittedly lacked good players.

So the assumption is that Jay Feely pretty much has it made now.

The assumption is that on a team needing so much help, Bill Parcells and Co. would turn their attention to those blighted areas of the roster and think about refurbishing the posh penthouse of consistent players much later.

But that won’t be the case for Feely in the coming training camp.

He does talk to damn much. Always on ESPN first take smackin off out the mouth.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if he was cut. Last thing Parcells wants hs a motormouth to the media kicker.

WTF is with the headline ?? "Parcells to ex-Wolverine: shutup" ?????
Since when has an NFL veteran of muliple teams been referred to as belonging to his college ?

Headline : 'Former Texas Southern star Michael Strahan retires !' see my point ?

Atleast it did inform me that he's from Michigan.... and.... that is relevent as apparently the Miami Dolphins will have a soft spot for UM players for the forseeable future. But they didn't connect the dots.

Good read however.... I'm a fan of Feeley, seen him do work on first take and jim rome as well... if i were him id yes tuna to death and then do whatever the hell i want behind the teams back. Screw that policy IMO... Why be a phin and be restricted from such oppurtunities when other teams would praise that ??

This part:

Bill Parcells' mantra to ex-Wolverine: Shut your mouth

was meant to DELIBERATELY mislead us into thinking Parcells has issues with Henne. I hate writers.

Maybe, just maybe it was meant to appeal to its audience considering the source of the article is in MICHIGAN.

I think people are overaggerating. He isnt that bad.. Not HALF as bad as CJ or TO

at least he's not a mike vanderjagt (sp?). talk about a jack@ss. i remember a while back, one of the attractive reporters said he winked at her, with the ball mid-flight, after kicking it and ended missing the fg, losing the game. what a putz.

Did'nt Feeley miss three game winning Field Goals against Parcells Cowboy team a few years ago.

Maybe thats how Parcells may remember him.

A kicker should be seen not heard. Shut up and kick the ball or they will find someone else to do it. I hear the kid they have in camp is good and it should be good competition going into training camp.

I didnt know we signed an undrafted kicker. He sounds pretty accurate and a 54 career long is pretty good
