Giants' Strahan Said to Weigh Retirement

Seven-time Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Strahan failed to report to the New York Giants training camp on Friday, and he is mulling retirement, his agent told the team.

"He is not here," Giants general manager Jerry Reese said after Strahan failed to report with veterans and rookies to the University at Albany. "Last night I talked to his agent (Tony Agnone) and his agent said to me at seven o'clock last night that he is contemplating retirement. That's all I know right now."

Strahan and his wife are divorced. She sued him and got a truck load of money. I think it's funny because it wasn't long ago when Nicole Murphy got a bunch of money from Eddie in their divorce. Maybe this is Strahan's plan to cover his losses.

The recent retirement talk is probably just a tactic to get more money which I don't see happening. He's nowhere near the player he proclaims to be and is already overpaid imo.

They said on Sportscenter last night that he figured he could make just as much money as this years contract broadcasting. So either he wants more money, or he is trying to play them. But I wouldn't blame him for not wanting t play on that team. They said he told Couch he didn't like where the team was going.
