From the always excellent Tip Sheet:

"With the second overall choice, there are strong indications now that all the rhetoric about the Miami Dolphins choosing Auburn tailback Ronnie Brown is pretty much the stuff of smokescreens. It's no secret that Dolphins first-year coach Nick Saban would prefer to trade down from the No. 2 spot and amass additional choices. But if he is forced to exercise the choice at No. 2, a strong likelihood since it doesn't appear any team is desperate to provide the Dolphins a parachute, no one should be shocked if Miami takes a quarterback in that slot."

I would not be surprised at all. This is a 5+ year plan, not a one year plan.

I wouldnt be surprised.IMO its the only position that justifies the No 2 pick .I would prefer to trade down but that possibility its looking less likely.Sure there is a risk but its a risk that must be taken if you want a franchise QB.They are usually not available through FA and if they work out they can give you ten years of productivity.

I dont think anyone would be surprised. Saban could go with anything at this point.

I don't think that too many people around here would be surprised.....but I bet 90% of others would be....being that we're always projected to take a RB.

I don't think anything coach Saban does at this point is going to surprise anybody.Whether it be QB,RB,WR or trading out of the #2 spot.

My only problem with taking a QB at #2 is we won't see him play this year.
If we took a RB or WR he would contibute imediately. I would rather get Green later on.

I just don't think that either one of the top QB's are worthy of the #2 overall selection.

My list for our pick goes:

1. Ronnie Brown
2. Braylon Edwards
3. Cadillac Williams
4. Cedric Benson
5. Mike Williams

Any one of those five that present the best "value" would make me a very happy man on April 23rd.

My thoughts EXACTLY

I don't know why a person that is promoting Stefan Lefors would be pissed at taking Alex Smith. Smith is a far better quarterback who will actually be a starter in the NFL. The only league Lefors has a chance to start in is the CFL.

Where have I heard that before.

you may be right, but if we do not get a QB now, while we have THIS chance, we will have to hope...to hope, that someone becomes available in free agency because next year we will not be drafting at this spot and there will be no-one available THEN, that will be as good as we can get now. Just a thought. Personally, I would prefer a running back because I like smashmouth you can't stop me football... and as a Miami Dolphin fan I have been starved almost my whole life for good running back. Mostly, I can't hardly wait to start arguing about the picks we DO make ! :D
