Pass Interference or No Pass Interference, that is the Question

I saw it live and definitely saw the PI as Revis grabbed a huge chunk of marshals jersey. However at this point, who cares. It just got us closer to luck

Two points.

You saw it live thus you did not see it that well. Much like Gruden who as the Color Guy had to make a statement within seconds of watching it.

Far and away the best look at a play comes from TV and a DVR. You can watch plays over and over and also break them down much better. Their are only a few people that can see a 4 second play one time and see everything that happened. This is one reason that the HCs always say, we will know better after we watch the game films. Even the coaches use the large screen TVs etc during the game.

The 2nd point is that we were leading 3-0. We had held the Jets to two 3 and outs. The Jets were misfiring on offense and I would say that as a team they were a little down. We were ready to go up 10-0. This was a game ready to be won.

One poor play call later, we were down 7-3 and the Jets were now a fired up football team. We drove down again and again tried to pass the ball on 3rd and 3. Failing once again, we again kicked a FG making the score 6-7 instead of 10-7.

The game was ours to win and we lost it.

pass interference or illegal contact is not reviewable...the only thing the booth could have reviewed on that play was did the ball break the goalline on the return in revis possession...which it obviously did...the only way the play woould be stopped before the extra point for a review is if the judge upstairs wanted to get another look at the play to verify the td was called correctly...in this case it was obvious it was so no need to hold up the game thus no play stoppage for review

Ahhhh, so the only thing they review is the ball in the endzone either though rushing or catching a pass. Thanks for the Up.

no they review every scoring td upstairs automatically but they only buzz down and stop the action if its questionable it was a td...run pass defensive return specials return etc they review them all...

ha ha...now you want a ref to call what he likely can't see...good luck with that

I want the game to be played by the rules. I'm not debating if the refs could see it or not, or why they didn't call it. I'm telling you it was a penalty that should have been called under normal circumstances. The people who claim it was not a penalty do not know the rules. Only Gruden called it as soon as it happened, and the two other guys didn't agree until after the break when they saw multiple replays of it.

Yes, just like I had a bias when I said we would go 3-13....take the homer glasses off!

If you can't see that it was a penalty, then you are biased. I never said that we lost the game becasue of that play. I think the Dolphins would have lost anyways. Arguing that it was a penalty (when it was) is not being a homer.

This debate is irrelevant. Is this what losing teams fans talk about? Instead of how good their qb looks or who they'll face in the playoffs like winning teams, we talk about phantom PI's that would have given us a "closer loss." Dolphins better make the fkin playoffs next year.

You are right. It was illegal contact. :)

In regards to the loss, yes this debate is irrelevant. This thread is not a total waste though, it has shown me who knows the rules and who doesn't.
