If you've watched the games or listened to coach Sparano you know that Miami preaches having the ball out of the quarterback's hands at 3 seconds. That means the quarterback has to know where he's going with the ball at 2 seconds. That's going to lead to a lot of short passes and dink and dunks. In 3 seconds you're not going to see many passes down the field.
People need to get off Pennington and Henne about not going down field and just realize that's what they're being asked to do. If you expect Ted Ginn to be open 20 yards down field in 2 seconds you're being unrealistic.
