Pat said that it is very important for teams to re-sign their MLBs because this draft only offers 2 quality MLB prospects in Maulauga and Lauranaitus. The next prospect isn't any higher than a 3rd round prospect.

He stated that teams are aware of this so those who will not be able to pick in the top 15, will have added pressure to re-sign their MLBs.

Crowder apparently must be re-signed...

I think Jasper Brinkley is a nice consolation prize in the middle for teams that pass on Maualaga and Laurinaitis. Plus, as the previous poster pointed out, Bart Scott is also a possibility.

Mckillop is probablly going in the early to mid 2nd round after he runs a 4.6 something at the combine. I actually hope he doesn't but he probable will.

Scouts have deemed him slow since he ran 4.8 at the trials this last spring but he had a gimpy ankle.

Mckillops stats dwarf all of the other ILB's including Maualuga's and Laurenitus's. 137 tackles,18 tfl,4 sacks,2interceptions. Nobody else even comes close.

He has decent cize 6'1" 243lbs.

He has long since graduated and received his BA and will soon get his MBA.

Not only is the kid brilliant but he has been preparing for games like Zach Thomas since he was freshman.

Even when he was playing behind Blades for 2 years he prepared for every game like he was going to start, doing the notes and film and all that stuff Zach used to do.

If all this wasn't enough Mckillop is a legend at Pitt for his leadership ability. His older brother had to learn the hard way who was in charge of Pitt's defense.

A former wrestling champion in HS his tackling is as sure as tackling gets.

Everything about this kid is good news and don't think he is going to continue to fly under the radar.

The Pats would love to have him in the middle with Mayo.

Mckillup is the quintessential 3-4 ILB and if he isn't a Dolphin next year it will be a very sad tradgedy.

Mckillop could lead our defense well for the next 12 years.

i really like him and brinkley.

I think both will upset many teams b/c they passed on him due to "40 times or bad performances" but are out right straight up gamers during game time.

I think we've learned over the year just because these so called expert try to predict player futures before they even begin, our own Davone Bess going undrafted or Donald Thomas neraly suffering the same fate prove player rankings in the draft are merely guidlines. It's about finding players that best fit what it is you're asking them to do. Of course not every player will work in every system, but it's why you have Tom Brady going in the 6th round or Dan Marino nearly falling out of the first. Maybe Crowder just isn't the best fit in our system.

a) we are not going to fill every hole in one off-season

b) who knows how these prospects will turn out(someone pointed out Frantz Joseph who looks like a bigger Zach)

if you want to build a physical team do you panic a lock up a guy who isn't what you want based on the college crop? hell no

Makes Scott that mch more valuable.

Bart Scott and Channing Crowder don't play the same position.

I think Bart Scott is a little over-hyped. He played with Terrell Suggs on side, and Ray Lewis on the other, and was allowed to "freelance" if you will more than the average WILB in a 3-4 would.

I also think he's a little on the smallish side as to what the Tuna has usually sought in his ILB's.

You mean Bart Scott who was an undrafted rookie free agent signing for Baltimore? There are gems to be had in the draft and if I remember correctly there aren't any rules about taking them outside of the first two rounds (See Zach Thomas, 5th round).

Don't panic and don't overpay!
