Just heard Pat Kirwan on Sirius answer a question by a caller about Vonnie HOliday's release. THe caller asked Kirwan did MIA cut Holiday with the intent in adding another DE? No.

Kirwan replied bluntly that MIA drafted Langford and Merling and sign Starks last season with the planned intent to release Holiday the following year. Said that is the Parcells way.

Kirwan then added that MIA is definitely interested and looking at a couple of WRs at #25. THey are also looking to draft a CB.

So based on what he said, doesn't it seem that Kirwan is saying that MIA will be looking for a WR at #25 and a CB at #44 based on which player drops? If a better CB than WR is available at #25 they take a CB at #25 and use the #56 pick on WR, but if the WR that is available is better than the CB available at #25, then they will take a WR at #25 and a CB at #44.

Here's to WR Hakeem Hicks at #25 and CB Alphonso Smith at #44!

could draft a NT & CB along with Pat White figuring into the equation as a QB/RB/WR (WildCat)
I don't think we need an early round WR

Though I expect those positions and player to be picks...as you can see in my mock draft below...reports have come out that are on this forum that Parcells is very intrigued and spending a lot of time evaluating WR Hakeem Nicks at #25 or WR Brian Robiskie in the 2nd round.

Being that the CB position and WR position are deep in the draft, I see those two positions as our first two or three picks in this year's draft. Then, I see NT being one of those three picks in the first day too.

A Wildcard I have is QB/KR Pat White being shockingly taken at #56 so that they don't lose the chance of losing out on him in the 3rd round. NTs Terrance Taylor and Sammy Lee Hill are 3rd round guys that can be there as consolation prizes to be Paul Soliai's backup instead of Ron Brace so that we make sure we land Pat White. Just a thought.

It will be between LB, CB for #1 ... no way we draft WR at 25 ...

I believe that the OLB rumor is a "smokescreen". Think about it. We already signed and have big plans for Cameron Wake. So we can wait for year 3 for Joey Porter's (who just made the Pro Bowl) replacement.

I don't see them drafting an OLB. Based on FA...what they are showing less importance on via FA is WR and CB. They have signed an OLB. So I think that the reason they are unwilling to pay any type of money for a WR or CB is because they plan on drafting that position first in April.

I'd be pretty bummed if we took a WR in the first rd. We're already stocked with young receivers and our defense has too many holes. Personally, I'd rather trade for or sign a veteran at WR so we can add 4 first-day prospects to the D (2 corners, a NT and a pass rusher in any order).

Nicks or Butler with the first. Britt in the second if Butler is the first, all the second round CB's suck IMO. I love Nicks, but i think we have to go Butler and Britt.

Help me understand- aren't you the guy who has said repeatedly there's no way we take a WR at #25?

Or how about WR Darrius Heyward-Bey at #25 and CB Sean Smith at #44! :beer1:

Theres no way Alphonso Smith drops to #44. I say we draft Hakeem Nicks at #25 and Darius Butler at #44!!!

yes, and we wont, but this is mearly what we should do. our needs have changed. we need a secondary but only Butler is worth 25 and no one is worth 44, so yes i am that person. I still dont think we will, but i think that it may be an OK move determining need, but still not the best move.
