This just might be wishful thinking but if we have a good year and the cheifs underachieve again maybe Pat thinks about coming back home with his boys and is impressed with saban in the NFL salaries aren't guaranteed I would love to see the greatest cornerback in Dolphins history to come back home who else feels that way ?
 
Surtain wasn't that happy about the trade and how it was done as in Brown getting his number as soon as he left. But i'm sure he could see that someone with a high cap number had to go and he was worth the most so..
If I was Saban I would definitely leave the door open and contact him if the Chiefs don't want him and are willing to trade again.

btw I think the chiefs only have 1 maybe 2 more years of contending to go to the SB before Green retires and they have to rebuild basically everything on offense.
They're offense was like our defense last year, lots of great players, but old, getting slower and high cap numbers.
 
Didn't Surtain sign a big contract extension when he went to the chiefs? If that's the case he probably can't be traded again without KC taking a large cap hit.
 
Surtains play the last 2 years, and how he looks this year + his age + his contract = no thanks.

I would like for Pat to come back, but after watching him play at KC, he's not getting any younger....He would have to come back at a cheaper price...but we are looking good in our cap situation.

Judging by the way the Chiefs played last week... They may not be contenders at all any more:evil: !
 
Surtain is ancient history for us...he won't be back...signed a LT contract, unless he is cut by KC, which would be dumb on their part. After seeing our secondary play, I sure wish we had him back...Surtain hasn't played too poor with KC...the entire D stunk the joint up last week. Give the man his due, he's better than both of our starters combined right now...
 
In two years as a discounted veteran who had a disappointing stay with the team that acquired him in trade, yeah I would take Patrick back. He's still a gamer.
 
We need to build a younger D not an older one. I love Pat for what he did for us for all those years, but it is time to move on.
 
I wouldn't piss on Pat, he did a great job in Miami, the price tag is what drove him out of Miami.

Alot of good memories with Surtain, and I miss seeing the real 23 out there.
 
I would take him back, under better contract terms, and as a ball-hawking safety not a CB.
