I remember when Kordell Stewart burst on the seen, the excitement, the unknown and then the speed, and ability of Kordell shocked the league. I truly beleive the pat white can do the same thing....but with a bigger impact. I believe that the wildcat will be used 2 to 4 series per game!:woot: If we can shore up our Defense, I think our Offense will be top ten this year!

Kordell was a great WR. He never should have switched to QB, way to much of a head case.

Hmmm, Kordell made it in the league. Let this 190lb soak and wet qb make a few plays before comparing him to anyone.

I have seen first hand a bigger faster stronger qb play here at KSU back in the late 90s who got drafted and lasted in the league like 2-3 years.

His name was Michael Bishop. And yes he did play for the PATS. And yes he was a bust in the NFL.

, his first year at Kansas State, Bishop started all 11 regular season games and completed 80-of-185 passes for 1,557 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also rushed for 556 yards and added nine rushing touchdowns. Bishop was voted second-team All-Big 12 Conference by the league’s coaches and Big 12 Newcomer of the year by Associated Press. During the 1997 season, Kansas State won 11 games including a Fiesta Bowl victory over Syracuse University and Donovan McNabb by a score of 35-18. Kansas State's only loss in the 1997 season came to the eventual national champion Nebraska Cornhuskers. The loss was the first in Bishop's collegiate career. In Bishop's senior year, Kansas State was considered a contender for the 1998 National Championship. That year, he broke school season records with 2,844 yards passing and 23 touchdowns with only four interceptions, He led the team with 14 rushing touchdowns and finished second with 748 yards on 177 attempts. He passed for 440 yards and four touchdowns on 23-of-40 passes vs. Northeast Louisiana, his four touchdown passes tying a school record and his 440 passing yards ranking him second in school history. He passed for 306 yards and a pair of touchdowns and rushed 25 times for 140 yards (5.6 avg.) with two scores and was voted [Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week as the Wildcats defeated Nebraska for the first time in 30 years. Bishop led the Wildcats to an undefeated regular season winning the Big 12 North title, putting Kansas State in 1st place in the AP Poll and 2nd in the Coaches Poll. Only a week later, the Wildcats' national championship dreams were put to an end. In the Big 12 Championship on December 5, 1998, Kansas State lost in double overtime to an underdog Texas A&M AggiesESPN Classic. team by the score of 36-33. Bishop did run for a touchdown in the game, which occasionally airs on
Bishop started in all 25 games (including bowl games) during his two seasons at Kansas State and posted a 22-3 (.880) record. He received 792 votes, including 41 first place votes, but finished second in the 1998 Heisman Trophy voting to Ricky Williams

Tall, kinda lanky? All he's missing is the sandals and thorn crown. So yeh maybe jesus.

I kid, I kid.

Kordell? I hope we have more success with him than Kordell had with the steelers.

The correct answer is: Randall Cunningham.

Kordell Stewart, much like Michael "Piece of Sh*t" Vick, had no accuracy.

Pat White is a real deal passer and can run in the open field much like Cunnigham - smooth and elusive.

Pat White = Randall Cunningham skills playing at Drew Brees size.

I remember Michael Bishop playing in college and I was never in awe of him even at that level like most are when watching Pat White with WVU.

We'll see but I am pretty confident in Pat White's chances at success AS A STARTING QB IN THE NFL.

I trust Mike Mayoch when it comes to evaluating talent (see his Cutler love over Vince Young and Matt Leinart) as a good example of his talent evaluation skills and Mike Mayoch LOVED our pick of Pat White and said that Pat White was "the best PASSER at the Combine including Marc Sanchez".

If Dirty Sanchez can be a successful NFL QB, why not Pat White?

I have never been a fan of these type's of QB's. A Marino, Elway, Montana, Manning and Brady type qbs are considered the best for a reason. They can sit in the pocket and deliver the ball. White has done nothing in a pro style offense to date.

And Mayoch isn't god. I'm sure his evaluations aren't 100%. I'm sure somewhere in his past he had a bust of a pick. As for the best passer at the combine. Seeing Freeman play here at KSU during his career and watching WVU game on tv. Freeman has a live arm and the body to take a hit.

I didn't think Bishop would make it in the league then. And I feel the same about White now. He may be a situational player for 10-15 snaps a game. Out of those 10-15 snaps, how many times does he touch the ball? That will determine his viability in the league.

And I think Sanchez will be no better than Leinart. Young imo was never gonna be a solid pro qb. He made a living at Texas breaking the pocket.

Bishop had a slow long release....and it took too many steps to get to full speed. That's why he didn't make it....I just don't see too many flaws in this kid.

Michael Bishop only completed 50.8% of his passes at KSU. White completed 64.8%.

Besides being black and a QB I don't see the comparison.

I hope not. I can still remember Kordell crying like a big baby on the sidelines

yeesh

KSU ran a version of the spread on offense. As for the comment of Bishop taking to many steps, he was in a spread so he was always moving. Isn't that what White does. You telling me that while White moves in the pocket he isn't taking steps? I love how people keep defending this guy. He isn't perfect, and has proven nothing yet. My original point was before labeling him the next this or before comparing him to proven NFL talent. Let him play in pads w/ NFL players first.

Bishop is bigger stronger and faster. Was the second best QB in the nation his senior year. Bishop did have a 80+% win percentage. He ran a spread with the occasional pro set mixed in. As for the completion percentage, Bishop only played 2 years of D1 ball. And was considered a top QB in the nation in only his second year of D1 ball.
