There is no need to make such rash judgments this early in the season. I'm truly surprised at the overreaction to the 0-2 start.

We have new players on offense learning a new system. One of those players Culpepper is coming off a major injury which will alter his game until he becomes comfortable and is fully healed. Also, remember that it took Vick 3 years to have a comfort level with his new offense yet we expect Culpepper to come in and be perfect. We need to give him some games to shake off the rust and get a feel for the weapons he has.

We have new defensive players learning the system as well as some injured starters. The D will gel and get better. Jason Allen will probably be a starter by mid year.

Don't forget we have new O and D coordinators on top of it all.

Changes take time so I'm not worried. The NFL is not Madden football.

This team will probably peak later in the year and that is exactly what we want.

The 2001 Pats team that won the Super Bowl started 1-3.

No, realism and objectivity are the key...to not having unrealistic expectations. Some guys here need to call a locksmith, cause they done lost that key...

Keep it up!!! We need more fans like this than anything else.:D

I pretty much agree....but if you've spent enough time on finheaven, you really shouldn't be surprised by the overreaction. I completely expected it and should have known better being here yesertday and getting so aggravated. Unfortunately, the fans are split in a couple different areas. Some think the season is over. Some think this team can be decent but not make the playoffs. Some think it's way to early to throw in the towel. All that is normal in my opinion. I dont agree with the overreaction, but eveyrone is entitled to their feelings. I dont see how it does any good to say Daunte sucks, Saban can't coach, trade Ronnie, booo the team, etc. But whatever. I think I'll always find myself defending the team on this board and tryng to be positive and others I know (specific posters) who just love being negative. But, as you pretty much said....you're gonna be positive as am I....so thats two at least (and we know theres more).

Lets do this thing against the Titans next Sunday. Season turns around THEN!! Go Finz!!

nice post. There are many people that have seemed to given up on culpepper and the team, but there is still plenty of football left. All I know is that I'm not ready to thrown in the towel this early into the season or give up on culpepper. A lot can change from here, I don't care about percentages, teams still have been to the playoffs with an 0-2 record, and Miami could be another team on that list, they have the schedule that could allow them to get on a winnning streak, it's not like, since the statistics are less for 0-2 teams that there is a divine or supernatural power from staying out of the playoffs, if Miami plays how they should or to their ability then they can pick up the slack. So much can change, 2-0 doesn't mean anything, things can flip flop so quickly. How many times in the past has Miami rushed out the gates at 4-1 or 3-1 only to fall apart by mid to late season and lose game after game. We all know about the patriots going to the suprbowl after an 0-2 start, but what about the '02 Jets. They were 1-3 for the month of september that year, and 2-5 by the end of october, yet they actually did make the playoffs. Talk about being in a big hole, It sucks that they have started the season this way,but they can bounce back. Hopefully they will take advantage of playing the titans and texans coming up.

Why does Culpeper get a mulligan? Drew Brees was also injured , and had to learn a new system too, yet he is playing very well. Carson Palmer also appears to have overcome his injury. Culpper just does not appear to be mentally in the game. You say be patient, but for how long? Should the season be written off because Culpeper has to knock the rust off?

Carson Palmer is on a playoff team with an offense that he has had years to adjust to.

Dolphans should be patient until the middle of the season when we can more accurately gauge the teams performance instead of overreacting after 2 games.

Att Comp Yards % TD Int

Drew Brees 71 42 523 59.2 3 2

Daunte Culpepper 69 41 512 59.4 1 3

If Culpepper could throw a couple of swing passes to Bush every game I bet his stats might look better. In any case, mobility is a big part of Culpepper's game and he is having to make a big adjustment because he lacks the mobilty he once had. Brees doesn't have to make any changes to the way he plays.

Patience is for boiling wafer - this is the NFL, win now or else!

Don't forget Breese and Palmer were injured late in the season while Pep was injured around the middle of the season. Therefore, he should be a bit rusty because the other two had another 6 or more games that he's missed.

if pep is going to get better with time then no problem, but you have to have a short lease so the season does not tank, it is all his fault

In a SHORT 16 games season in which we've lost the first two games, there is NO MORE TIME TO BE PATIENT.

We have 5 games before the bye, 4 of which are very winnable.

We have 9 games after the bye, 6 of which are also winnable.

10-6 is a very realistic outcome for this team. That record should put us in the Playoffs and might even win the divsion if the Pats struggle.
