The Newark Star-Ledger reports Patrick Ramsey is battling Brooks Bollinger for a roster spot.
With second-round pick Kellen Clemens and Chad Pennington the only locks to make the roster, Ramsey's play has reportedly been disappointing and he's outwardly shown frustration with himself. Clemens has been the most impressive of the four quarterbacks competing.

Any of you Jets fans been hearing this?

I think it's way too early to speculate. Sure it's not a good sign that w/o pads on a QB isn't throwing well but I'll be shocked if he doesn't make it and isn't the primary backup to start the season. All we here is how everyone has a chance but Week 1 at Tennessee if Chad isn't starting(assuming he's healthy) and Patrick isn't his backup i'll be surprised. They will be getting rid of 1 QB(99% sure it will be brooks) and they could be trying to drum up some interest to maybe get a late rd conditional pick.

Clemens will be the Jets starter by the middle of this year or the beginning of 2007. Just my humble opinion

wait, didn't they trade for Ramsey? You'd think if they invested a pick into him, they'd give him the edge. I can't remember though

Ramsey is new to the team like Harrington is for us. I'd give him a preseason game or two to adjust before I made a decision on him.

Yeah, Clemens is either that damn good or everyone else really blows.

Only if there are injuries or if we are out of it by Dec will he start this year.

It's MINICAMP. it's as meaningless as can be.

Ramsey never has nor ever will perform well and neither will Harrington. Both of these QBs just dont have what it takes to be Good Qbs. I have seen both players in person on more then one occasion and have never seen anything good from them. Gibbs didnt want Ramsey in Washington cause the guy sucked and the fans hated him and the same goes for Joey. There are reasons for this and that reason is because they suck. Us Phins fans and Jets fans are going to all hate them too specially if either of them are stuck starting games early in the season.

clemons is actually a good qb....chad blows and patrick ramsey is a loser.....no heart on that kid

I'm a big fan of PR (ask anyone at JetNation) and I'll have to say this is the first time I've seen / read that. It would be something if Bollinger beat out Ramsey, but not 100% surprising because Bollinger showed a lot of toughness and ability to be a NFL calibear #2 option for the rest of his career. He can no longer be viewed as only a #3, although he will be there behind Clemens and Pennington if he beats out Ramsey.
