I have seen it in print many many times since Saban was hired; The Dolphins will be a team similar to the Pats model because Nick is from the Belicek camp and will bring Bill's systems and beliefs along with him. I think one element of the Patriot's game, one that Belicek brings and I believe Saban brings as well, is almost constantly under appreciated. They can beat you with whoever they have on the roster and whoever is available on game day. I see all this fretting about what happens if Ronnie Brown goes down, while the Pats will be riding the creaky old legs of Dillon. Who is in better shape there, I ask you? Losing Ronnie would be a disaster for a full season, but he could miss a few and I bet the Dolphins wouldn't miss a beat. Dante's knee? The video of him in his first OTA day? He is already miles ahead of anybody we have had at the helm since Marino retired and our back-up is arguably superior to everyone we have had in that interim. I look at the age on our D-line and see experienced quality guys with young semi-seasoned talent right behind; that is the model. Hudson Houck, Dom Capers, Mike Mularkey: Saban is building a Juggernaut. Looking at the roster from top to bottom the Dolphins enter this camp with more talent and depth than we have seen in years. There may be a signing or two left in the bag as well, Wilkinson anyone? Nick's system is in place and most of the roster has some level of familiarity, certainly to the level of polishing skills rather than acquiring them. The Dolphins, just like Belicek and the Patsies in previous years, will beat you passing if the running game lags and vice versa. Look for this defense to dominate and Special teams to be "Special". When asked about adding Wilkinson as a NT. Kevin Carter replied, "We have everbody that we need for the season in the house right now" and then repeated the statement for effect. Let's trust him. He has been aroound a bit. Cheers, B
