I found this article on espn thought it would make a good topic here.

"Jason Taylor? Signed.
Greg Ellis? Signed.
Julius Peppers? Signed.
The list of pass-rushers linked to the New England Patriots looks thinner than Manute Bol in a girdle."

Bad news for PATS.... HA miami, bills, jets, and any other that face them are going take weakness so seriously pats are going to fill stupid... Sorry pats fans but you do not have the team you had 2 years ago going 18-1 (:thanks: nyg)... Tom and moss can have they best year ever, but its teams that win super bowls and individuals or records.

Dan Marino >>>> tom brady period :fh: :fh: :fh: :fh: :fh: :fh: :fh: :fh:

Yeah, it'll really hurt. They'll win games by 16pts instead of 19pts.

The defense should be much better than in 2007. What they lost in the pass rush (Vrabel)has been replaced by the improvements in the db and lb corps.

You guys are cute.

I would agree that a significant upgrade is now a slim possibility, but the overall pass rush? Slim? Maybe. We'll see.

Unless Darrius Butler proves to be as good as Asante Samuel, then your DB's wll not be as good as what you had in 07.

Huh? Patriots have a good secondary? When? Unless Darius Butler pans out, I'd say your secondary has gotten worse than last year, with your best CB (Ellis Hobbs) traded. Sean Springs is merely a shell of his former self and who knows if Leigh Bodden will return to the same form as he was with Cleveland.

I'd say your LB corps has degressed as well with Vrabel gone.

That screen name and picture is probably the gayest **** I have ever seen on FH to date. :foundout:

Just not having Deltha is an upgrade, and did you watch Vrabel last year?

The secondary is better on paper, and I would say the LBs are in the same boat. I would imagine that Thomas will have more of an outside rush role.

I'm just afraid of the Patriots offense. As much as I dislike Tom Brady he is still going to do a lot of damage this year, especially to our defense we are still to young CB wise. Hopefully Jason Taylor will be back to his old form and provide more of a pass rush.

I believe this years version of the Pats will remind me a lot of the years when marino was the QB with the Fin with a not so good defense. As Marino had to win games by out scoring the the other teams offense, I think the same will go for the Pats this year as well.
Last year the Pats defense showed their age in quite a few games, this year will be worse, even with the "upgrades" that were done. The Pats defense is 1-2 injurys of "Key starters" away from being a Very Bad defense. Look out........

And instead of Marino as QB we have Pennington :(.

Why is the Patriots defense "so bad" again? Is it just because they lost a lot of their key players?

The Pats had the #4 D in the AFC last year and #1 in the AFC East. If they could have just improved the third down D.... eh, whatever. I just don't know what some of you base your opinions on. Are you just hoping, or do you have some inside info that the rest of the world doesn't?

Are you a Patriots fan or are you making fun of Tom Brady? You better be with that picture.

But I have to agree I don't know why everyone seems to think the Patriots defense is going to be so bad this year? I wish it was.
