Think you are pretty desperate at a position when you are having retired guys come back to play for you.... for example the Farve to Vikings which was desperate because they needed a QB even after trading for Sage.

You are equating bring in a retired guy to start to getting payer for physical ?.

Last year after 2 LB go down seau came back .Every team do physical to keep a list of players in case on injury.So again you compare that to favre. you make it sound he is signing and replacing Mayo or Guyton.

I do think seau will be a pat before the playoff push. Mczenie the 3rd rd ILB got injured in camp and Brushi retired before game one.these 2 ILB where excepted to be in the roster. I can see seau in as a back up to mayo and guyton in playoff.right now AD ,mayo and guyton rotate but AD is more effective on the Outside.People forget if the defence had stopped the gaints once in the last drive AD could have been the MVP. He had 5 solo tackles 2 for loss and 2 sacks.
 
The Patriots may be about to sign Seau. But it will not be as a starter. They feel they need a vet to help the very young ILBs get better at reading the plays.
