The Giants proved it the year the Patriots were undefeated and headed into the superbowl and LOST!

How did the 6 seed (I believe)- wild card Giants do it?

They had an unbelievable pass rush.

Miami is built to beat the Pats because we are stacked up front.

Our linebackers must tackle.

There's your game right there. If the LB's tackle it forces the pats to throw.

Then we pin it back and clobber Brady bunch!

We have got the team to do it - I expect big things!
 
Yup. We gotta hope our defense corrals the Pats for 21 points or less. If they do that, we ought to win this game.

Our players are good enough to do it. I hope our coaches are.
 
This isn't the same Patriot's offense. They're going to do everything they can to set up a one-on-one mismatch and exploit it. I'm expecting a lot of screen action and flare passes to the backs. Make Ellerbe, Wheeler, and Misi cover someone. That's our weakness. Brady is going to try and slow the pass rush down with a bunch of quick hitters and audibles into runs.

You are right in one respect...we're going to have to tackle effectively. The defense has to limit those 3-4 yard passes by not letting their ball carriers get yards after the catch.
 
Pats will go after LB group.

Billicheat knows none of our LB's can cover worth of crap. I expect Gronk or whatever TE to have a field day against us. Julian Edelman will also post monster numbers. Not worried about the boundary WR's.

Maybe put Grimes on Edelman all day?

Game will rest on the hands of Vernon and Wake.
 
Amen brother. This game cuts to our ability to knock lil Tommie on his buns. Do that and he becomes very average. Don't do that and lil Tommie will pick us apart. Wake and Vernon's ability to at least get Tommie off his spot are the key to winning this game. I believe they can and will...
 
Beating the top quarterbacks usually comes down to being able to get pressure while only rushing four. The Patriots best receivers are Edelman and Amendola who both do most of their damage underneath. I expect them to attack us with a lot of quick passes so sure tackling will be important.
 
Wake and Vernon from the outside yes, but pressure up the middle is what affects Brady the most.
 
Call me a homer but I think we match up well against them. Our front is dominate over their o-line. Our secondary match up well against their WR. NE is hurting at the TE spot and peiople are talking about Gronk I would be suprised if he has more then 7 snaps. The only issue I have is creating a match up of a LB on a RB. I would hope we haev auto checks to zone if they catch us in man. But then again you have to stay with the man coverage at some point. So I think it comes dowmn to 2-3 big plays either way,.
 
The person I'm worried about the most on the Pats is Vereen. Our D is really bad against speed backs. Vereen got injured in last years victory against the pats so he was a non factor. I expect him to be heavily involved in their gameplan.

Like OP said, lets hope we can tackle, because that is the reason why we fail against these types of backs.
