just the opinion of two guys, but i like the sound of it.

i am very much in favor of signing AS, if his price is close to reasonable. i think his signing would allow us to focus on other areas in the draft as a secondary of will allen, asuante samuel, travis daniels, yeremiah bell, and jason allen would be young and very talented and locked up for some time (provided bell resigns).

Too much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Besides, I really think our secondary will improve with more experience together. They've already shown positive signs, and we need more help in the trenches {OL / DL}, than we do in the secondary in my opinion....

PHINZ RULE!!!

I think that if we sign AS that we can focus on the OL and try to improve that area.

I'd love to have him, but from what I've been hearing he wants a Champ Bailey-like payday, and im not sure we can afford to throw that kind of money at one player when we have so many holes to fill. Plus, it seems like a thin FA market this year, people will overpay.

my thinking tends to run the other direction. while i am afraid he will ask for too much money, we can at least wait and see. i agree that our secondary will improve with more experience, but signing AS would solidify the secondary for years to come

i would prefer to go OL/DL in the draft and signing a DB would allow us to focus our full attention there. I think our OL showed signs of promise and drafting a lineman would be less disruptive to the chemistry than adding a FA. a big money FA is expected to start coming in whereas a rookie would have to earn his spot. plus, developing a rookie should not hurt the development of alabi either.

You got that right! AS will cost WAAAY too much, not worth it, we don't need him THAT bad. We had #4 ranked D last year without him.
Yeh with the emergence of Bell, and Allen playing well, it wasn't as bad as some said it would be, but you have to admit, we still need a shutdown corner, and he fits that description, but he's not worth Bailey money, not yet.

if there´s a cheap shot at him why not? he's a great player, and would help our secundary big time

I'd love to have him but word here is he will probably have the franchise tag placed on him.

You can't coach speed and the Defensive line is about the only area on our team where we don't really have a need...

He's looking to get paid.
and other teams could outbid us for his services.
