Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I was wondering about Patterson.
I saw he started against Pittsburgh, but I did not see if he stayed in the game or even if he is healthy. I never heard his name once yesterday?
I sure hope he is okay and ready to go 100% for the Patriots.

I thought it was Carroll that got the start? I did not even see him mentioned. Which I guess is a good thing out of a DB.

Patterson only played 12 snaps. Good call by the trainers and coaching staff to keep him out IMO. A bad groin, those weather conditions and that field were probably a good mixture for reinjuring the groin.

Looks like they were keeping him up to game speed without reaggrivating the groin.

I hope he didn't play at all, that field was in terrible condition, easy to re injure his groin.......Carroll stepped up with one of his best games

Carroll stepped up and played solid.

His ability to turn and run, make plays down the field is one thing I've seen in him from the beginning and liked -- even when so many people hated him.

Now he just needs to develop a feel for the game and become intuitive. Which seems to be happening. Long way from that horrid TD given up to NE this year to the game yesterday.

I was also wondering about this. I was certain he got hurt again, but it was definitely smart to keep him out.

Only time I saw Dimitri yesterday was at the start of the second half when he and the trainer were late coming out of the locker room. Looked like they cut thru the end zone just behind Thigpen. Monster game by Carroll. The best I`ve seen him play.

carroll has stepped up big time in pattersons absence. so it hasn't been a huge deal

Carroll is proving Patterson and his cap number are expendable by season's end. I'm down with that. Sign Grimes, Carroll and Taylor as your top 3 CBs and an improved Jimmy Wilson as nickel, i like it!

No way Patterson gets cut. First, Jamar Taylor has shown NOTHING so far -- not even that he can get healthy. Until you have a healthy, quality alternative, you have to keep a ballhawk like Patterson around. Second, if Taylor gets healthy and shows he can play, Patterson's play this year has actually given him some trade value. If I'm a team with a hole in my secondary, I'd throw a 5th at Miami for Patterson.

Patterson is easily our best defensive back when healthy. I realize that healthy is a rarity but too many posters are elevating Grimes and wanting to give up on Patterson. I attended the Bengals game and watched both of them closely. Grimes inherits plays...Patterson goes out there and makes them. He takes what he wants.

Patterson is also much more active. He wouldn't have been loafing like Grimes did on that final play.
