Paul Pierce: Bring Me a Co-Star or Trade Me

I say they just reduce the entire league by like 80%, cut all the garbage players, garbage teams, and set up a new half-court 3on3 league kind of like NBA Jam, with single elimination playoffs. That way all these prima donna stars will always be on a contender.

I wonder if Pierce being traded to L.A. to work with Kobe, if it would quelch Kobe's balleyaching? The funny thing is, Al Jefferson has the potential to be a big time player, even as soon as this year, so asking for a trade now when Boston finally seems to be turning things around, is somewhat confusing.

I think he is getting caught up in the moment, and no I dont think he would work well with Kobe. Kobe needs a dominant big man.

I don't think that would really work. They are both Scorers and do alot of the same things. While Kobe is just alot better at them than Pierce.

Pierce is not going to get a huge star like he wants, But I am sure Boston will do whatever they can.

See with Jefferson and Pierce I think Boston should spend some time fixing the depth on that team. They have two pretty darn good "stars" work on getting some players around them. They really have Jefferson and Pierce and NO ONE else. lol...

Something tells me Paul Pierce has been following the drama surrounding Kobe Bryant this summer. Call it a hunch. According to Yahoo! Sports columnist Adrian Wojnarowski, if the Celtics don't bring in another star…

Pierce was saying stuff like this before Kobe made it "cool"

He is just being more vocal now since there are trade talks all over the place.

Paul Pierce doesn't get it at all.

It's not about bringing a star, it's about bringing the right players to build a team. Bringing in another star does not guarantee success. If that was the case, why didn't the Nuggets advance to the 2nd round this season? They didn't get any better with Iverson, just worst off on their cap. Still only made it to round 1.

Ainge has done a fantastic job so far in bringing in all the right players hasn't he? Pierce gets it. Put someone like Marion on that team and they have a chance. They may not be contenders but they would at least have a shot to make it back to the ECF, something he hasn't done since Walker was traded away.

Its the same argument Kobe has been making, and they both make valid points. Neither is going to be around if or when the young "core" finally reaches its potential. If thats the direction the team wants to go, why bother keeping him there? They obviously aren't going to win anything with him trying to do it all by himself.

Screw all these crybabies demanding this and that or they want to be traded. Boston has sucked since 1986,,,,,bad draft picks, players dropping dead, Danny Ainge running a proud franchise into the ground.....

GO SIXERS. :)

Doubt it. It's been reported that Kobe would "think about it" even if Kevin Garnett landed in LA, and KG is a much better player than Pierce is.

Besides, even with Pierce going to LA that will not make them contenders, especially if KG goes to Phoenix. Even if he doesn't, the Lakers still have to worry about loaded Dallas, San Antonio, and Phoenix teams.

Unless the Lakers can seriously put together a contender with this year's free agency, they need to deal Kobe, because he will walk in 2 years if they aren't contending.

The Lakers gamble here either way. Even if they land some superstars to appease Kobe for this season and the next, if they don't make the Finals he will walk in 2 years.

Sure, because Boston had a healthy Pierce all season to determine whether that team would have been good or not in 07-07.
