The Dolphins are obviously interested in running back Ezekiel Elliott — he’s still in Miami on a two-dayvisit.

But the Ohio State runningback could very well be gone when Miami selects at No. 13. So how about a tradeup?

ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr.believes it’s possible.

“There’s been talk theycan move up to get Ezekiel Elliott, moving up from 13 and getting in to thatmaybe top-6, top-7,” Kiper said to reporters on a conference call.

Kiper said he has Elliottas the fifth or sixth best player on his board and believes he’s “worthy ofbeing a top-5 pick.”

The Dolphins had the No. 8pick in the draft but traded it to Philadelphia for the No. 13 pick, cornerbackByron Maxwell and linebacker Kiko Alonso.

The Eagles are incontention to draft Elliott if he lasts to the No. 8.

Dolphins head of footballoperations Mike Tannenbaum hasn’t been afraid to trade up in the past. The New YorkJets one year under Tannenbaum had just three picks in the draft.

I don't want to give up the second round pick but for anything else I do it. I think he's the best player in the draft and it isn't close.

Wait, so not only would we essentially throw away a 1st round pick by letting a good RB go for relatively little money and then drafting a RB who may be a slight improvement, leaving us really no better than we were last year, we'd now throw away another pick or two to do it? I'd be hard-pressed to come up with a dumber offseason scenario. Tannenbum sucks, but even I don't think he's that stupid.

I don't think we're nearly as desperate for a RB as the "draft gurus" like to believe.

What in the ****..? Trade up to the top 6 to take Elliot? That's the craziest **** I've ever heard. Its stupid as hell to move up after moving down but if you were going down that road of insanity then at least do it for Ramsey, Bosa, or Jack. Not a RB. Kiper gets paid for this ****. Shocking.

Should have done this last year and got Todd Gurley. We are so stupid. lol

I mean, what kind of goofs are these? They want a player so they trade out of the position to draft the player in order to get some depth players, and now they want to trade picks to move back to essentially that same position?

My god...

Not good to hear... Stay at 13 and take bpa or move down!

I'd laugh my ass off if we move up to take a runningback. I'd Laugh my ass off if we took a runningback before the 3rd round... Especially after what we had in Miller and didn't resign.
