Miami Dolphins cornerback Byron Maxwell, who has missed the last two games due to an ankle injury, was not dressed for practice on Friday. :bobdole:

Maxwell had not practiced all week. He worked with a trainer.

No Miami Dolphin has more playoff experience than Maxwell, who won a Super Bowl with Seattle.

If Maxwell can’t go or is limited, rookie Xavien Howard and second-year player Tony Lippett would draw the assignment of handling Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown.

Maxwell’s season actually began to turn for the better against Pittsburgh in the first meeting, as he engaged Brown in some jawing and jostling. Maxwell had five tackles and
This week, Brown called Maxwell a “great” player.

Linebacker Jelani Jenkins (knee) was dressed for practice and appears likely to go. In the first meeting, Jenkins did a nice job covering Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell out of the backfield.

The game is gonna beat a tough one with all the injuries

How can a guy with an "ankle sprain" not suit up after 3 weeks?! Especially for a playoff game when the season might be over anyway

How can a guy with an ACL sprain not be ready?

Ankle sprains can be no joke.

If it is a high ankle sprain, those can be just as bad if not worse than a break!

Listen, Doc. There are quite a few forms of ankle sprains. Grade 1, 2 and 3. High ankle sprains and regular ankle sprains. Some take weeks, some take months. Some, the cartilage is damaged and the "padding" of the ankle never returns.

I'm sick of hearing people thinking this guy can go out there and play with a bum ankle.

How about this, run outside, trip over a curb and sprain your own ankle. Ice it for about a week and then go run a ****ing 5k and tell me how it feels. I'll be waiting.

I hope he is resting it to the max to save it for the game.

Bummed that Max isn't playing. He's our best CB and he did a good job the first time on Brown. It's like Barnes told O'Neill in Platoon...."we need every swinging d!#k in the field."

Dolphins cornerback Byron Maxwell officially is doubtful for Sunday’s wild-card game at Pittsburgh, but he doesn’t even sound that optimistic.

“It’s very difficult,” he said Friday. “I want to be out there to help the team. That’s all right, though. I’ll be out there in spirits.”

Maxwell, who has missed two games with an ankle injury, said he’s still day to day.

He called it a regular ankle sprain, not a high ankle sprain, which often lingers. Asked if he’s surprised, then, that the condition is lingering, he said, “I don’t know what it is. It’s just not moving. It’s not happening. I don’t know — I’m lost for words.”

Lippetts real fortunate that he got hit in the shoulder and not the head on that open field block vs the pats

Had he got hit in the head that kid would still be seeing stars and bobby mccain would be starting on the boundary

head hit there probably would have ended his season

We're ALL fortunate!

We have an open roster spot. Maybe a Bene promotion or a LB or we keep an extra lineman active maybe.

With these Official's who don't call many pass interference penalties. Sure would have been nice to have Maxwell holding a$$ ready to go.
