Go get me a juice box!
........................ there's no doubt in my mind that we could've won the game. But - WE DIDN'T. To all the Bills fans who took an endless amount of abuse on here this week - I will apologize for the ignorant posters on here who touted all week.
Back to the game though. Ugggggghhhhh............ I feel like that old "Where's the Beef?" lady.........except "Where's the discipline?" This team has none. Startling, given all the cred everybody was giving Saban as a disciplinarian prior to arriving in Miami. Five penalities in a game and you made a few tiny mental errors. 18 penalites and you're certifiably mentally handi-capped. I'm sorry, there is not one credible excuse for that many screw-ups. What did we do all week long? Did we hang out on the beach because the Bills supposedly were so bad?
Before I begin to harp, I would like to give credit to the coaching staff for two things: The first is they're very exotic in they're play-calling and it's helped us to overcome the gargantuous holes we've dug ourselves into over the course of the first 4 games thru an array of penalties and mental lapses. Second, their adjustments. There's no doubt in my mind that they're on the adjustment ball at halftime. I also love our short-yardage/goal-line D and - this just in (now brace yourselves) - Ronnie is looking good man, real good. Booker is by far and away our best reciever.
I'm just still awe-struck at the quality of football I watched out of us today, more specifically the O-line and the defense. Sam Madison's days with this team are numbered. As is Seth McKinney's. That guy is worthless, the true power DT's in the game eat him alive. We need a guy leading our O-line troops who's got an attitude and nastiness to him. What was with all the offsides penalties? What was with all the false-starts? How hard is it to hold your stance until the ball is snapped? Seems elementary to me.
Chris Chambers is a bum. He's talented, I know. But he's playing like a bum. I've always knocked him for his lack of passion for the game and he's not doing anything to prove me otherwise. I'm not going to completely blame him for that one interception where Frerrotte got hit and the ball was underthrown, but he makes absolutely no attempt to break up bad passes. And what gives with that one Gus throw to the endzone to Chris which got picked? Chris Chambers has one of the biggest verticals in the game and we throw a line drive to him???? Why not a jump ball? I would think that would've been glaringly obvious to Gus, but instead he chose to stare down Chambers and throw one of the worst passes he's attempted so far in his tenure as a fin.
Wes Welker is overrated by alot of you. I saw him routinely dance back there instead of just catching the ball and ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun. He and Ronnie (from a few weeks ago) would've made one h*lluva dance team I'll tell you. At one point he called a fair-catch on probably the most wide-open opportunity he had returning.
This game was proof positive why you never overlook a team, especially a division rival. Contrary to what alot of people think you are held accountable for mental mistakes, penalties, and various other facets of shooting yourself in the foot - after all, Buffalo took advantage of them. It wasn't like they didn't score. They scored when they needed to. Once again another team which took advantage of a weak secondary.
