One thing I was hoping for with Saban is accountability and mental toughness. Both are qualities he speaks often about.

I am baffled at how the team continues to hold, false start, and jump offsides. All of which are signs of a team that doesnt have their brains tuned in on every snap.

No matter the personnel, coaching staff, play calling, or whatever else changes, Penalties like those today will always remind me of Wanny Ball.
 
True. I just read somewhere we have had double digit penalties in two consecutive games for the first time since 1998. The JJ era.

Well put. I also fail to see the accountability which Saban preached about so much during the off season.

Well think about it, it has to be a tough balance for him. If you hold too many people accountable so early with all our oenalties and so forth, half are roster would be cut. Plus, only two games into a long-term rebuilding plan, holding people too acountable too soon would be the wrong step.

At the same time he has too make sure somethings are shown not to be tolerable, and for all we know he addresses this stuff during practice or in the walls of the Miami Dolphin facility.
 
Good post, I've been thinking the same thing. But is only 2 games, lets see what happens next week. I cant see Saban tolerating this for much longer. I dont mind when we loose a game because we were outplayed by a better team, but when we have the chance to win...and shoot ourselves in the foot time and time again THAT PISSES ME OFF!!!
 
There are going to be the stupid mental mistakes that all started with the same players that Wanny picked up... Saban just cant get rid of those guys quite yet. Please dont compare the 2 coaches.
