Ja’Wuan James has become quite guarded this season, literally and figuratively.
The Miami Dolphins’ starting right tackle for the past five seasons has been utilized more this season on pulling plays, which is a role typically assigned to guards, than any time ever in his football career.
James, who is usually friendly and easygoing, has also become extremely cautious after this offseason taught him about the business side of the NFL. Being on the trading block this spring, and having to play on his fifth-year option instead of getting a multi-year extension impacted James.
So changes were made to do for James, who is earning $9.3 million this season, what offensive linemen regularly do for their quarterback: protecting them.
This explains why the offensive linemen have barricaded their area of the locker room off with ropes typically used for VIP sections. All season, permission has had to be granted for anyone under 300 pounds to enter.

Would not care very much if he walked for the money he is going to think he is worth.

Hard to imagine he returns. Free agency was created for players like him.

Up front money will be significantly different on the open market, hard to believe he turns it down.

He will get a 5 year deal and likely be cut after 2. He's not going to think that way but he needs to consider the likely hood he doesn't even get half way through his FA contract.

isn't Jesse Davis supposed to be a Right Tackle? Any chance he can fill the void?

Replacing one of the most undervalued players with one of the most overvalued. Seems like a pretty Dolphins thing to do. Doesn't change the fact that we'd be creating yet another hole on the line that we'll have to add to the pile of positions we already need to address. But at least we'd have some sweet, sweet cap savings to show our friends.

He's going to get paid wherever he plays, that's how it works with tackles. I don't think he should get top dollar but average would be perfect for James. Average pay for average play. I would like to keep him, seems like one of these guys would take fair offer for once

I think they bring him back especially if they rescind dvp

I’m not sure what the tag is for o line but I think it could be possible

THAT, is awesome! lmao.

I guess the big question is....is Larsen the turnstile to get in? Or do they take turns?

Hole! Wow, dude, we already have a hole at RG. Jesse Davis is nothing more than a quality backup at RG and RT.

If we can draft a player guaranteed to be as good or better, I'm with you all the way.

Otherwise, pay the man.

And even then, what position of need that we already have are we skipping addressing with that pick?

Sweet! We can finally find a replacement for Wake! Oh wait, no, we need to draft another ****ing OT.

Careful, that guy is a hero on here. He’s certainly played well for his draft spot, but considering him a replacement for James is laughable.

Exactly.

(Charles Harris needed to be that dude).
