I didn't know that Pennington had only one season playing 16 games healthy out of his last 8. This is only his second 16 game season without being injured. The team itself must have set a record as far as very few injuries as well. We always used too say at the end of the season its who is left standing and can still play. Have too believe it was Sparanos training camp changes. GO DOLPHINS!!! :woot:

Well, keep in mind that Pennington wasn't even here until pre-season, so he still hasn't gone through a Sparano summer.. I bet he'll come out even more tough next season. Honestly though, I'd have to say though that the biggest reason he isn't getting hurt is because everyone on the team has upmost respect for him, and I guarantee you those guys on offense have his back. Remember Favre getting layed out by Bell? Yeah, our guys on offense would have had someone's head if Chad was hit like that

He was only sacked 24 times, that's a pretty big reason also. Just goes to show you how big of an addition Jake Long was, immediately tightening up the offensive line.

Man, remember the Culpepper era where we had like 27 sacks in the first three games?

Yeah,

And AJ Feeley spent his entire career on the ground in Miami.

The offensive line was REALLY putrid for a while.

Definetely, they were all so fat they just couldn't do anything. I'd say we have a great O-line now for one that was basically put together in a month ( I might as well say team though, since half of are roster was somewhere else last season ) :hi5: ..It can only get better

Remember though Sparano was also a highly respected OL coach so...Im sure that helped a lot as well...And I think with Chad a lot might have had to do with the cold of New York and his shoulder, I dont know how many of you guys have had injures like that but the cold plays hell on them...

Culpepper is an idiot. The HC in Minnesota knew why he wanted to get rid of him, and 2 seasons later they are in the playoffs.

No coincidence that the two lowest turnover teams in the history of the NFL were Parcells Teams.

while i wanna believe it was sparanos doing...it wasn't. injuries are just a matter of luck/chance/timing.

Unfortunately both our two guards had bad injuries this year, but thankfully it was just the two of them and Camarillo.

I know it's completely arbitrary and adheres to every offensive coach in the history of football, but during last week's game, Phil Simms was talking about how Dan Henning HATES it when his quarterback gets hit. And, it's true, rarely have we seen Chad get hit hard. I think it's a combination of coaching and Chad's own pocket awareness/timing. Hopefully, he can keep up this remarkable turnaround.

While I agree that injuries sometimes can be attributed to luck and so forth, I just don't understand how people can minimize the importance of conditioning. The stronger your body is, the better conditioned you are, your chance of injuries will go down with every hit. I think this is common sense!

You honestly think that we just had bad luck last year with Scam Cameron's Club Med mentality here?? Yes, luck ofcourse was part of it, as it is in every aspect of wins & losses; but the REAL reason was that we were a WEAK and unprepared team both physically and mentally, because of BAD coaching and leadership.

Part of it was definitely conditioning. Part of it was Sparano's refusal to accept the little phantom "injuries" guys come up with throughout the season. He understands the difference between hurt and injured, and everyone was expected to play if they were only hurt. Guys who didn't do that were shown the door early.

The sack total was partly Chad, partly the line. We are really very good at pass protection. We just can't run block to save our lives. More changes to the o-line are in store this off season. Center and RG have to be addressed if we're going to be able to play ball control offense while scoring points at the same time.
