Was it just me or did it feel way to much like 00-04 today? I swear they showed a close up of Sparano on the side line and I saw a big chunk of his mustache missing for just a second. Just kidding there I'm still loving Tony but......

Penny is just like Jay Feed. No ability to stretch the field and no chance to bring a team from a couple of scores down. Now that he can't protect the ball I'm starting to wonder what his upside is. Hell Henne might go out there and throw picks but at least he has a cannon in his arsenal so the safeties don't stack the box. ERRRRRRRRRRRRR this sucks!!! If Penny looks bad Monday I hope Sparano isn't scared to pull the trigger.

I've been one of Penny's biggest defenders this whole off season so this really does suck to have to say. It's just getting hard to defend him being the guy. Before I get jumped with the "It's one game" people, for those that really watch they know it's not just one game. It go's back to last year and the Jet fans tried to warn us.

AHHH Jay Feed led us back many times, I can provide examples if necessary but I think there were 5 or 6 4th quarter comebacks in 2001 alone. When the great defense that carried us needed to be bailed out by Jay Fiedler who we won in spite of. But that's a whole other thread :).

Your 100% right Feeds 1st year was great. He had that whole Trent Dilfer "Game Manager" thing going for him, but it faded quick just like Penny. I like Chad P but I don't see us getting anywhere with him this year. I don't care what he did last year. The Ravens wrote the play book and now everyone else is just gonna follow the script on how to beat us.

yep and it's not that hard to figure out

Lets hope that Sparano doesn't have blind love for Pennington like Wanny had for Fiedler and no matter what Chad does wrong he will never be benched. I hope and pray that doesn't happen

i think a lot of people here over rate how bad jay was say what you want the guy left it all on the field and we won at least 9 games with him for 3 years

Fiedler benched for who? You would've rather had Ray ****ing Lucas out there? Brian "I'm not like my dad" Griese? Sage "the rage" Rosenfels?

Well, seeing as Sage has had some monster games and was recently traded for a reasonable haul, as well as the fact that he engineered the best comeback in our team's history in one of his few opportunities, I think he deserved a little more of a chance than he got here. He got one start under Saban in a fricking blizzard in Cleveland, and the rest of the time sat behind a Gus Frerotte that could hardly complete 50 percent of his passes.

He was young, had an incredible arm, showed awesome big play potential, and in general played pretty well in his preseason time here. Why would a team wanting a young QB not ever give this guy a shot? We were so busy looking elsewhere to solve our QB that we were always bringing in guys who stole practice reps and preseason time from a guy who had high upside, on a team that never found its "QB of the future" in the guys they brought in. Its unfortunate for him that he has been blocked everywhere he goes because he could have been developed to play smarter football and be a very good QB.

But I admire your defense of Fiedler, because every QB that touched the field in his tenure did infinitely worse. Brian Griese was supposed to be "so better its not even funny" (according to in depth analysis I read at the time), but just like Fiedler pulled out the win in Mile High in 2002 head to head, Brian Griese stalled out after having 1 really good game and Fiedler saved the season temporarily with an off the bench win against the Redskins.
