I think its so funny how people were saying we need to bench chad in
favor of a rookie. He's having his best season with arguably his worst
personnel. Anyway i hope Chad has a career season and is our starter for the next
few years while Henne grooms to the perfection.

check out his profile here http://www.nfl.com/players/profile?id=00-0019559

One could argue that 2002 was better (better TD% and slightly fewer sacks per game), although the YDS/Game are better this year. Either way, this is either his best or his 2nd best season ever so your point is well taken.

I'm just saying personnel is huge in this respect. NY has usually had really good receivers.

Chad's playing with an unreal level of focus. He's the leader - he knows that he's got to set an example for all the young guys: how to win, how to compete, how to play mistake-free football, etc. He's handling that responsibility with a level of maturity that I've not seen in a professional athlete in a long time.

He's in the zone, and everyone else is feeding off him. To land him was a serendipitous twist of fate and has probably gotten this team and its culture farther along than any other offseason move by this new regime. And it was just dumb luck he landed in our laps this way. Or fate.

Without Chad it's almost guaranteed we'd be a 0 or 1 win team right now. And whether that's a good or bad thing depends on your perspective, but I'm thrilled.

hes doing a great job...i think the longer henne sits and soaks everything in, the more prepared he will be

the development of Henne flourish silently in the background while Chad Pennington deliver this season. I started to think of him as our starting quarterback also next year. Which is not given when I was a little skeptical about him in the begining.

We all were. Also i think people are a little more excited about Henne than they should be. Yeah, hes a tremendous talent and i feel secure about the future of this team with the physical tools he brings to the table, its just that even if he was drafted in the 1st round my belief is that you dont take something that precious and risk ANYTHING with it until you have to.

And besides, Chad is a semi-prone player when it comes to injuries. Henne will be making appearances and hopefully positive impacts even while he's number 2, but the reigns to the offense wont be there (hopefully) til year 3 or 4. Just my take.

Oh yeah and i started this thread before i found out he got offensive MVP for the week. WTG imma try and buy your jersey!

OK, ill do it... Hes on pace for the following:

320 completions, 462 Attempts, 69.3 comp %, 3,909 yards, 16 TD, 7 INT's, 25 sacks...

All VERY good numbers, would like to see more TD's though (not that im complaining because hes been incredible - Just sayin)

We wouldnt be anything close to the team we are without Chad Pennington. Im glad Brett Favre came back and got traded to the Jets. Im glad Parcells signed him almost immediately after the Jets released him. Parcells knew what kind of guy he is. His work ethic during the week really shows in the games. Hes smart on the field, he doesnt make a whole lot of bad decisions. If hes got noone open instead of trying to make a risky throw into coverage he'll eat the sack or throw it away. I hear all the time about how weak his arm is. He dont got the greatest arm but he makes good throws. We dont have any real big playmaker receivers and hes having a great season. He is a leader and he studies all the time and he always knows what to do on the field. Im glad to see them stretch the field last game. If Ginn can play like that every week Chad would be puttin up BIG numbers. Its real good for us that Henne is learning under Pennington. He can learn how to become a leader and how to become a smart QB. We know Henne's got the strong arm but if Penningtons field knowledge rubs off on him he can really be a great QB for us in a couple of years. Penningtons no Dan Marino but he is definately the best thing we've had since he retired.

How he ranks so far this season in the whole NFL:

2nd in Completion % (69.3%)
2nd in Yards Per Attempt (8.5)
9th in Yards (1,710)
10th in Yards Per Game (244.3)
17th in TD's (7)
3rd in INT's (3)
9th in 20yard+ plays (20)
5th in 40yard+ plays (5)
9th in Sacks (11)
5th in QB Rating (100.5)
