At least in passing yardage he is. His 1,991 passing yards so far this year is good enough for 10th on Miami's career list.
That's both good and bad in IMO.
Of course, what everyone will see is that it is pathetic that we haven't had at least 10 guys throw for that many yards, and how many garbage QB's we've have since Marino retired. And there's no denying it, no one has stepped up, and this stat supports that.
But the good of it is it shows just how established the Miami QB picture was for so many years before that. Griese for 68-80 then Marino from 83-99. 31 years with only a 3 year gap in the middle. That's a huge reason why that aren't many others with good passing numbers....those guys owned the position for damn near 30 years.
